We quickly picked Erica up from the hospital and we all jumped into Catherine's car.

"So what's the plan now?" I asked.

"We're going to go back to the school," Catherine said.

We decided to stop off at a coffee shop since most of us needed to go to the washroom except for Erica and me. Once the others were out of earshot, she turned to me.

"So do you like me as more than a friend?" she asked.

"Yes," I confessed. She grinned.

"Since when?"

"Since when I met you during the SACSAs," I said. "What about you?"

"Same," she said. We sat there in awkward silence until Catherine came to our table.

"Anything happen while I was away?" she asked, winking at Erica. Erica glared at her.

"What do you mean, mom?"

"You know what I mean," Catherine grinned. Just then, Mike and Zoe came out and we had to go. This time, I sat beside Erica in the backseat of the van. Zoe looked a little jealous for some reason. Suddenly, we stopped in the middle of the road due to a roadblock.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I'll ask the officer," Catherine said while stepping out of the car. She and the guard had a short conversation before she walked back in.

"He said that there was an explosion here an hour ago," Catherine explained.

"WHAT?" Mike said.

"Do you think it was SPYDER?" Zoe asked.

"It could have been," Catherine said.

"But why would they explode a random country road?" I asked.

"That's the million-dollar question," Erica said.

"We'll have to take a detour," Catherine said, driving around the roadblock on a smaller road. While we were riding, we pondered if SPYDER had blown up the street and why.

"They said right after the missile hit the road, they heard another bang as if there was another missile coming out from the ground after the first one had exploded," Catherine said.

"Why wouldn't they just fire the first missile straight at the target?" Mike asked.

"Some missiles can only fire a certain distance," I said. "What if they had a backup missile stored there and decided to use it now?"

"But they can't exactly program it to go somewhere," Zoe said. "They're not even there!"

"What if they just used the momentum of the first missile to fly the second missile directly forward?" I asked. "Like Newton's Cradle."

"That could work," Catherine said. "But what building is straight ahead that they would want to blow up?" The thought dawned on us all at once. Spy School.

"Quick!" Mike said. "Step on the gas!" We weaved through traffic, dodging in and out of cars. We were still a good distance away from campus, so it took us about 10 minutes to get there, plus traffic. We slowed down as we reached the campus, holding onto the hope that it was still there. As we turned onto our street, we couldn't hear any sirens, so we took that as a good omen.

As we drove, we heard a deafening explosion. We sped up, pulling up into what was left of the driveway of St. Smithens. Catherine got out a medkit, and Zoe and Mike just gaped. I knew that we had to go in to check for survivors, but I was too traumatized. Thankfully I snapped out of it and got to work.

"Check for survivors!" I said, wading into the rubble. Everybody else did the same. Once we tallied up everybody, it turned out that there were no casualties. Prof. Crandall had spotted the missile and sounded the alarm, so everybody ran into the underground tunnels. From what we learned, it had been Alexander's fault, since he was supposed to be keeping a lookout for projectiles but had been playing games on his phone instead.

"We'll have to find a new campus," Catherine said.

"Yeah," Zoe said. "But where?"

"Let's focus on helping the injured people first," Alexander said, trying to save face. "Good thing I spotted the missile before it totally caught us with our pants down!"

"You didn't spot it, Alexander," Erica growled. "Crandall did."

"No, no," Alexander said. "I saw it and he notified everybody."

"You and I both know that's a lie," Erica said. "Now get looking." We found about 12 people who had injuries, and they were sent directly to the med bay.

"What about us?" I asked. "Are we going to go back to regular school?"

"Yes," Alexander said. "For the time being. You, Erica, and Mike will go back to your old school. Zoe and Warren will go to another school, and so forth."

Over the next few days, life went back to actual normal. By now, I and Erica were an item. This was good on many levels since now Kate and Chloe couldn't hit on me anymore. One day, after we had won this snowball competition, Erica went up to me and for no reason, just kissed me.

"What was that for?" I asked.

"Sorry, you're too cute to resist," she grinned. I blushed.

"When do you think we're going to go back to St. Smithens?" I said.

"I really don't know. I haven't got word from Alexander, no matter how much I ask. Sometimes I'm tempted to beat the answer out of him."

"Whoa, calm down. Maybe he has a good reason for withholding the answer."

"What reason could he have?"

"Maybe cuz he knows that the answer will make you mad and he doesn't want you to kill him," I joked.

"Whatever," Erica shrugged. But one day, when I was having dinner with my family, everything changed.

So we were just sitting down, eating normally, when my parents dropped this huge bomb on me.

"So, Benjamin, me and your father wanted to tell you something," my mom started.

"Yea," I said.

"So, we got a job in London," my mom said. "It's really well paying, so..."

"We're moving????" I said.

"Yes," my mom said. I couldn't believe it. After all the friends I had made in Spy School, we were moving. And there was a good chance I would never see any of them again.
