Chapter five (Stranded arc part 2)

I slowly began to open my eyes. The bright sunlight was glaring down on me, and then, it all came back to me.

Y/N: S-Shoukaku! Where is she?

I started looking around vigorously. I spotted her several meters away from where I ended up. I ran to her praying that she was okay. I checked her pulse, and she had a pulse as well as steady breathing.

Y/N: Thank god.

I was beyond relieved to know that she was okay. I don't know what I would have done had it turned out differently, and then she started to wake up.

Shoukaku: Y/N?... what happened? The last thing I remember was a giant hole in the side of my carrier. Then... everything went black.

Y/N: Regardless of what happened, I'm just glad you're alright. Although, we ought to find a way off this island.

Shoukaku: I'm afraid I won't be much help, my rig was damaged when we were attacked.

Y/N: ... I guess we're stuck here for a little while.

Shoukaku: I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure my sister will start to worry and come for us.

Y/N: Either her or Taihou. Maybe even Akagi.

Shoukaku: ...Akagi.

Shoukaku's eyebrows were furrowed at the mention of Akagi.

Y/N: Are you upset about something?

Shoukaku: No, it's just that she clings to you every chance she gets. It's irritating.

I was confused as to why she was getting so upset over Akagi. I had thought that they would get along being as how they were from the same faction. I decided not to press the matter further.

Y/N: In any case, we should try to find food and water. I don't mean to sound worried, but we don't know how long it will take for them to get here, let alone realize that we haven't come back yet.

Shoukaku: I'm sure they'll realize that you're gone in no time.

Y/N: Why do you say it like that?

Shoukaku: I mean, you are the commander after all. You're the most important person on base.

Y/N: Maybe, but you shouldn't sell yourself short. There are a lot of people who would be upset if you suddenly disappeared. Me included.

She had a very visible blush on her face as she smiled.

Y/N: I'd probably get pretty lonely without you around.

Shoukaku: Thank you commander.

She walked over to me and sat in my lap making me blush hard. She gently grabbed my face and brought me closer to hers.

Shoukaku: You're always so nice to me, and you're considerate about my feelings as well. That's why I fell in love with you~

She didn't give me any time to react before she brought me into a kiss. We stayed that way for a about a minute before she let go leaving a string of saliva connecting our mouths.

Shoukaku: If I'm stuck on an island with someone I'm glad it's with you.

Y/N: Yeah, likewise.

She laid on my chest for a while before she got up.

Shoukaku: We should try to do something about shelter and food.

We managed to find an area with bamboo shoots growing, and we were able to make a small shelter. There were also fruit trees and a small lake on the center of the island.

—later that night—

Shoukaku and I were laying on our makeshift bed, which was comprised of bamboo and plant fibers. She was clinging to my chest while I was thinking about her confession. She looked up and smiled at me to which I did the same.

I whispered into her ear-

Y/N: I love you

And let sleep slowly take me while feeling her warm embrace.
