Authors note: I'm going to be swapping to first person point of view from now on as I find it easier to write. If you guys would prefer me to go back to the third person perspective let me know.
Ruby POV
I woke up to the sun suddenly shining in my face as Yang opened the curtains.
"Ah sis why?!" I complained.
"Cause it's the weekend and we ain't wasting the whole time sleeping like coma patients." Yang responded.
I groaned as i dragged myself out of bed.
"Ruby!" I heard the familiar, happy voice of my robotic teammate greeting me.
I immediately felt much happier as i turned to see Penny standing there in front of me in her usual outfit. I wonder if her clothes are actually part of her design and built into her?
She gave me a wide grin which made me blush a little.
"How are you Penny?" I ask.
"I am functioning optimally" she responds.
Blake gives a suspicious look so I frantically stammer out an explanation "ah Penny you and your odd sayings, just say you're good like everyone else" I let out a nervous laugh.
Blake shrugs and goes back to reading and I let out a sigh of relief. "Be more careful" I whisper to Penny."So what's the plan for today peeps?" I ask my team.
"We should throw a mini tournament" yang says cracking her knuckles.
"Yaaaaaannnggg" I whine "actually testing how we've gotten better at combat could be advantageous" Wiess adds. I look at her surprised "wow I didn't think you'd be so up for this."
She looks of to the side not responding.
"Should we invite team JNPR?" Penny asks innocently.
"We could" I respond "team SSSN too."
"How would we do the fights?" Blake asks "we kinda have too many people."
Penny looks at the ground "sorry for being an inconvenience."
I look at her concerned "hey no don't say that we're all glad to have you here, right guys?"
Blake and Yang glance at each other but before they get to speak Wiess interjects "well it is a fact that you do make it so there's too many people on the team for the activity." She says coldly.
Penny is taken aback "I'm s-sorry" she stutters.
"Plus now this room is incredibly cramped thanks to your addition." Wiess continues, I glare at her angrily. I begin holding penny's hand to comfort her. "And frankly you can get annoying with the ridiculous way you speak, and having you around is awfully awkward."
"Wiess!" I yell "enough." I turn to Penny to see her face stricken with sadness. I don't doubt that if she could cry she would be. "I- I need to go" she stammers before rushing off, face in her hands.
"Penny" I call after her but she's already gone."What's the matter with you!" I yell at Wiess who looks surprised by my outburst.
"I was just saying what we were all thinking" she shrugs.
"I wasn't thinking that" I yell "I was thinking of a way she could participate but you went and insulted her!"
"Well she's in the way" Wiess continues. "The room isn't being enough, she doesn't bring much to the team when it comes to teamwork capabilities or academic ability-"
"Shut up!" I yell with tears in my eyes.
Wiess stops talking immediately and her eyes widen. "She is my friend, and I care about her." I yell through sobs "if you can't even have the human decency to pretend to like her when she's around then I don't think it should be Penny who gets kicked off the team."
"Guys come on there's no need for fighting" yang says in an attempt to calm us down but Wiess ignores her.
"Why do you care about that air head so much anyway?" Wiess scoffs. I glare at her before she continues "I mean you're always around her, you spend almost every moment of every day together, why do you have to be around that dumb girl so much."
"Because I love her!" I yell before clapping my hands over my mouth as Blake and yang let out a gasp.
"You love her?" Wiess says stunned and I see tears form in her eyes.
I glance around to see Blake and yang with the same shocked expression. I use my semblance to speed out of the room, ignoring the calls of my sister behind me.Penny POV
I kept running, I had no idea where I was running too but I couldn't bare being in that room anymore. I had no idea Wiess hated me so much. I find a corner on the grounds covered in shade from the building and slump down onto the ground and bring my knees to my chest. I wanted to cry, but unfortunately that was not something my robotic body allowed, but it did allow me to feel the sadness that was drowning me. "I never should've come to beacon" I think to myself "as soon as I'm able to motivate myself to move I'm calling dad to take me home." I wouldn't allow myself to be a burden to team RWBY any longer. I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to say goodbye to Ruby. Just thinking about the expression of sadness that will undoubtedly wash over her if I tell her is too much.
"Hey are you okay?" A familiar voice interrupted my thoughts and I look up to see who talked to me. In front of me I see a tall bling boy with a white button shirt that he seemingly refuses to ever button up properly. I also take notice of the yellow tail swaying behind him. I search my memory banks and analyse his features to come to conclusion that the person in front of me is...
"Sun Wukong" I say "salutations" I add in a cheery tone, attempting to hide the feeling emptiness I feel.
"Are you alright?" He asks again "you seemed upset."
"I'm fi" I begin before stopping, I'm not going to lie to him, sun is my friend and Ruby says friends tell each other the truth. "No I'm not" I admit and look down at the ground.
He places a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Well the rest of my team are off exploring the local and I was just gonna see if Blake wanted to hangout but if you're interested I could hang with you instead." He suggested. I looked up at him, with a soft smile and he give me a wide grin. "I-I would like that" I responded.
