Zainab's POV
I thought for a while before looking back at my phone. Within a split second, I sent the picture of the decorated room to him. I slammed my fingers on the screen typing the message.
'Shaiq, you know what? We had done all preparations for Pari's birthday. I am so excited about this since she is going to turn five. When are you going to come back? You know today that Shakir again tried to annoy me but I again beat him like I had done last time in front of you.'
I chuckled to myself when I remembered how Shakir was panting and whimpering when men were beating him. Without a single thought, I sent the message to Shaiq. I went to my phone's gallery and clicked on his picture. Just by seeing him, my eyes flooded with tears. If he only knew how much I was missing him. I ran my fingers into his eyes. The eyes which always gleamed with mischief, fun, and happiness were now far away from me.
"What are you doing?"
On hearing a familiar voice, I abruptly jerked up from the couch while turning my phone off. I folded both arms behind my back. I turned around to find a button as small blue eyes squinted at me. Her wavy brown hair was all over her little shoulders. Her eyes were puffy probably she was sleeping earlier.
"Pari you?" I nervously asked her.
She didn't reply as she took swift steps towards me and got at my back. I looked at her in confusion when she was staring contently at my phone in my hands which I had pulled on my back. She came back in front of me with the same puppy eyes having suspicion in them.
"I know what you were doing," she announced while pouting.
"What...what I was doing?" I asked her in uncertainty.
This kid was really intelligent but mischievous at the same time. Her parents (Shaiq's sister and her husband) died in a car accident when she was two years old and since then, she was living here.
Now I didn't know what she referring to; for the same reason, I was looking at her in astound.
"You were looking at mamoo's (uncle) picture and you know I can tell him that," she said while crossing her arms on her chest.
I suppressed a laugh at how adorable she was looking at this time.
"Why? What's wrong in this?" With trying hard, I couldn't stop the smile which adorns my lips.
"There is wrong. He is my mamoo and you can't look at his picture. I will tell him but I am afraid he may scold you," she mumbled while putting her index finger under her chin.
I chuckled at this, "come here."
She hesitated for a moment before walking near me. I held her in my arms as I ruffled her hair.
"Don't tell him, okay?" I whispered while punching her little nose.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because..." I deliberately stopped and peeked at her.
"Fine then, tell him," I told her with a smile.
Her eyes glowed due to excitation, "then I will tell him that you were looking at his picture when he will come home tomorrow on my birthday, "
My eyes widened in surprise when I heard the word tomorrow from her mouth. Shaiq was finally coming back. I didn't realize when my lips curled up to form a smile. I couldn't believe I would be seeing him and listening to his voice after so long.
"Shaiq is coming tomorrow? No, I mean your mamoo is coming tomorrow?" I almost yelled in amusement.
"Yeah, he has told this a week ago," Parizay replied.
