Sienna pulled on her boots and walked outside to help Charly with her things.

"What the hell's with the white stuff?" Charly asked disgusted.

Sienna laughed, she knew her friend disliked the snow with a passion. "You're in the mountains now." She replied.

"Yeah," Charly laughed sarcastically, "I guess I am aren't I."

Sienna gave her friend a warm, full body hug before she grabbed up a couple of her bags and took them into the cabin. Charly was close behind and once inside she closed the door behind her.

"Do you think you brought enough stuff?" Sienna asked teasingly.

"Well I'm going to be here for a few days, so I brought some food, wine, you know, essentials." Charly answered.

Sienna laughed out loud as she pulled out a large package of batteries. Charly looked over at her and smiled, "Hey...I come prepared!" she said.

Sienna loved her smile, she also loved to hear her laugh. Something she'd always missed.

"What do you feel like having to eat?" Sienna asked.

"Well, actually I had something to eat on the way up, so I'm good for now, thanks." Charly replied.

"I'll pour you a glass of wine then."

Sienna grabbed a couple of glasses and poured the wine that she had left out to breathe on the counter. She handed Charly a glass.

"To good friends." Sienna raised her glass.

     "To good friends." Charly followed.

They both took a sip, then Sienna asked, "How was the drive up?" She inquired as she continued to put things away.

"It wasn't bad until I got closer, and into the snow." Charly answered with a sadistical grin.

     "How was the road?"

"It's starting to get slippery." Charly answered.

"Well let's hope you don't get snowed in here." Sienna chuckled, sinisterly teasing her friend, and smiled, adding, "Or perhaps you'd like to get snowed in up here for a while." She smiled.

Charly laughed with her and said, "That would be interesting."

After they unpacked the food and put it away, Sienna took Charly by the hand and led her back into the living room, and they settled themselves on the couch. The fire was blazing, crackling and popping, and it was the only light in the room. They both took another drink from their glasses.

"So, how long can you stay?" Sienna asked.

"I thought I'd stay about a week if that's okay with you." Charly replied.

"That's great. Thank you for coming up. It means a lot to me Charly, it really does." Sienna said sincerely, as she touched Charly's hand tenderly.

"Well, you said it was important." Charly took another sip of her wine. "So, can you tell me what's so important now?" she added. "What's on your mind?"

Sienna hesitated for a moment. She wasn't expecting to get into it with Charly so soon into her visit, and she sure as hell didn't have the faintest idea how she was going to approach the subject with her.

"We don' t have to get into it tonight, you must be tired from your drive. We could just have a visit and catch up, do you mind?" Sienna asked.
