Cesar and Valerie finally caught up to the group at the Martinez house, they all sat around the couch, talking about nothing special. "So how's everyone feeling about tomorrow?" Monse asked. "Couldn't care less" Valerie stated as they all just nodded. "We're gonna be highschoolers and you guys barely care?" Cesar asked. "It's just another year of the same shit?" Valerie responded. "Hey Valerie, have you heard of RollerWorld?" Jamal asked. "Isn't it that hidden Santos money?" She asked. "Right, well we're looking for it" He said. "Cool?" She shrugged. "Wanna help?" Ruby asked. "Sure" She smiled. "I'm gonna go home before my brother gets all pressed" She rolled her eyes. "I'll walk you" Cesar smiled. She nodded slowly as the two left Monse being all jealous. "Sorry about my friends, they're weird I know" Cesar laughed. "It's fine, they're entertaining" She laughed. "Anyone you have your eye on?" Cesar asked, knowing it was dumb. "I've been here for a day, i'd give it some time" She shrugged. "Right, do you know what happened between our families to you know make them hate each other?" Cesar asked. "Nope, do you?" Valerie asked. "Nope, but we should find out" He smiled. "And why is that?" Valerie asked. "So I can walk you home everyday" He winked as they went down their separate drive ways. "I'll ask my sister" She smiled as they both went inside.

"Hey Toni i'm back!" Valerie called out as she entered her house. "Hey how was orientation?" Toni asked, walking up to her sister. "Pretty good, I have a quick question though" Valerie stated. "Okay?" Toni asked. "What happened between the Brunos and Santos?" The young girl asked, making her sister look at her with shock. "Hermosa, I know I said to be friends with the boy but don't ask anyone that question okay? You'll understand when your Mateo's age" Toni said. "Come on Toni! You know I can handle whatever it was and plus I bet it wasn't even that bad" Valerie rolled her eyes. "Go to your room and don't bring this up again" Toni said strictly. Toni had always been the soft one, telling Valerie everything but now this whole odd conversation made Valerie want to know even more. She pulled out her phone and called Cesar, hoping he'd pick up which he did. "Hey, you okay??" Cesar asked over the phone. "Yeah, I just talked to my sister⎯⎯⎯ she told me to never ask that question and that i'll understand when i'm Sad Eyes's age" Valerie groaned. "Weird, wanna meet up and talk about it?" He asked. "Yeah for sure, outside urs in 5?" She asked. "Yeah alright, see you soon" He said before hanging up. Valerie changed out of her school outfit and changed into some grey sweat pants and a pastel grey cropped camisole and some slides before grabbing her phone and sneaking out.

Valerie waited as Cesar came walking out of the Diaz house wearing a colorless tank and long shorts as usual. The two began walking so their siblings wouldn't see them. "Do you have anything else in your closet?" Valerie laughed. "I do but I wear these tanks and shorts" He smiled. "Can't forget the knee high socks" She shook her head. "Of course, so what do you think happened between our families?" Cesar asked. "I don't know but you're right, we need to find out" Valerie stated. "We'll help Jamal on his RollerWorld hunt and hope it gives us some leads but in the meantime we should find records of your parents, it might help" Cesar explained. "Great idea Diaz" She smiled slowing down as they faced each other. "Thank you Bruno" He smiled. "Cesar?" Oscar yelled. "Shit, hide" Cesar whispered as they jumped into the nearest bush, letting Oscar and the Bruno siblings walk past. "Your right, this is some messed up Romeo and Juliet shit" Valerie joked. Cesar didn't say anything, he just grabbed both sides of her face and smashed his lips on hers. The two melted into the kiss as their lips linked together perfectly. When they finally pulled away they both had goofy smiles painted across their faces. "I think they're gone" Valerie whispered. Cesar nodded as they crawled out of the bushes only to be greeted by Oscar and the Bruno siblings. "Thought I left did you?" Oscar scoffed.
