Finally, after years of waiting, I can get a job. I've been working 3 years for this moment! Oh, I guess I should introduce myself, sorry about that. I'm Zoe, my birthday is today, October 27.
I woke up to the smell of fresh pancakes floating in the air. I jumped out of bed, rushed into a suit and carried shorts and a T-shirt with me. I threw my hair into a bun and ran downstairs.
I heard my mom yell, "No running on the stairs Z!" Z is the nickname my mom calls me.
"Sorry mom!" I said, sitting down.
She laughed, "It's okay sweetheart. I made your favorite breakfast!"
"I see that! Even raspberries?" I said. Questioning her.
"Now why would I mess up such a great breakfast?" She said, as she set the pancakes in front of me.
"That's a good point," I said, stuffing my face full of pancakes.
   "Eat slowly!"
   "Well, today is very important!"
   "Why is that?"
"Well... it's my birthday for starters..."
"Well I know that much." She said with an annoyed look on her face.
"Okay okay, I get it. Today I'm going out and looking for a job!"
"Oh, really? That explains the outfit."
"Yep!" I said as I got up.
   "Well, when are you leaving?"
"Right now! I'll be back around 5pm, maybe 7?"
   "Alright, alright. Just be safe?"
"Always! Plus, I'm going with James."
"Oh, well that makes me feel a little better. James is a fine young man."
"Alright mom," I said, rolling my eyes. "I'm leaving now."
   "Okay, bye!"
   "Bye!"
I ran out the door, hopped in the car, and turned on the radio while throwing the T-shirt and shorts in the back of my car. Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi is what came on.
Before I knew it, I was outside James house. I honked my horn, a normal best friend greeting if you ask me. He came running out, it was like a dog chasing a bone.
He flung open my car door and jumped in.
"Be careful would you?" I said, laughing.
"Sorry, I'm just so excited!" He said.
"Isn't it me who's supposed to be excited?" I said.
"Well yes, but I'm excited for you! Also, happy birthday."
"Why thank you, my good sir."
"You're very welcome, malady," he handed me a small box.
   "Wow, a gift!"
"Well of course. Now open it!" If you could see him, you would understand there was no saying no to him when he's happy about something.
"Fine! Fine," I said, opening the box. Inside was dozens of chocolates, of all sorts. "Wow."
"I know, I try!" He said, doing a hair flip. The only problem, he hasn't got long hair.
We finally made our way downtown.
I parked in front of a clothing store. I was wanting to get a job there, but that didn't work out very well...
