Dearest Diary,
I hope I can tell you all my thoughts and feelings during this difficult time. I am always the one trying to keep the peace. Sometimes it isn't so easy.
You know me as, Margot Betti Frank. I've been sixteen for about 5 months. My younger sister Anne is a much more talkative person than me. I am rather quiet, but others mostly describe me as "neat, tidy, athletic."
We've been in the secret annex as we call it for one week. It feels like forever! Who knew you'd take talking for granted. Downstairs is a workplace, we mustn't say a single word or cough or anything else that could possibly make a sound until lunch time. Once they come back we are quieter than a mouse.
My parents are very easy going. Good grades aren't an essential, I get quite good grades when we went to school. Anne would get C + 's at the lowest. She's a fabulous storyteller and writer. She'd be quite the talkative in class so she'd often have an assignment of 1,000 word essay due by the next day. Anne would like everyone to hear her story she wrote so especially when mother and father had guests over, Anne was always sure to read her essay.
I hope I am not being too talkative my dearest diary. I will write to you as soon as possible!Yours Truly,
Margot Betti Frank
