Dearest Diary,
Hello again and I am back to tell you what happened since we last spoke.
Just last night we had potatoes and sauerkraut for dinner. I am not complaining, I am rather thankful we have food to have.
Our "secret annex" was up and early at 8am. I wake to to reach for my eyeglasses. For breakfast we have porridge. We all read and until about 10:40 am. We know by know that the people down stairs have their lunch break around that time. We turned on the radio and had some lunch as well. Our friend, Miep, thank goodness for her. She gets us the things we need during this difficult time. She visits us as often as she can. Today she's supposed to visit after 6 pm.
So afterward lunch we turned off the radio. Time goes by as slow as molasses. Finally the people left downstairs for the night and we got to talk. Anne and I talked about what we want to do after the war. Anne wants to travel and be a writer. I want to be a maternity nurse and help deliver children to this world.
Maybe we can be back in school by October. The war will hopefully be over soon. Gosh, I sure hope so! I want to see my friends again. Just like the way it was not so long ago.
