The ride had been mostly silent, other than (Y/n) mumbling to herself. She'd heard Megatron was once a spirited Gladiator (and later a politician) that gave speeches on the regular, but she guessed since she was human that that didn't apply to her. She started to think about the test, and whether or not she'd have to fight. How would she even fight? She couldn't fight a Cybertronian. (Y/n) would ask Megatron.

"Megatron?" (Y/n) turned to the console. He hummed. "What's this test specifically going to entail?"

"It is just a loyalty test, (Y/n). Although, may I ask, what species are you?" Megatron's voice waves displayed in front of her, wiggling up and down.

      "I'm a human." (Y/n) nodded.

      "Human, hmm? Odd name."

"Cybertronian is an odd name." (Y/n) crossed her arms.

Megatron said nothing for a moment. (Y/n) was scared he'd eject her from his alt mode. "I suppose that is so for you."

(Y/n) held back a sigh of relief when he did respond, anger seemingly not present in his voice. She turned to look back out the window. The sky had turned a bitter gray now, they looked to be storm clouds rolling over, but (Y/n) wasn't sure. Gaining the courage to look down, she saw they were in a canyon as well, jagged cliffs trying to go at one another from each side.

"Although, I would like to know the story of how you came to be with the Decepticons." Megatron spoke. (Y/n) opened her mouth to begin the story, but Megatron cut her off. "We're here."

Turning, Megatron transformed, (Y/n) landing in his servo. Megatron's other servo pounded into the ground as he landed, shaking the rocky terrain. Looking down the canyon, (Y/n) could see two bots. One she recognized as Optimus Prime, but the white and orange bot she was unfamiliar with the name of.

Setting (Y/n) down, Megatron began to speak once more, voice echoing. "Optimus! Been well? I see you brought your trusty watchdog. I was certain he'd be convalescing in a scrapyard by now."

The white and orange mech took a step forward and bumped his fist against his open servo, grumbling something but they both were too far away to hear.

"I know why you're here, Megatron." Optimus spoke, giving Megatron a hard glare.

"Hardly a surprise, Optimus. After all, you and I have been at this a long time. And your time has come to an end!" Megatron pulled out the dark energon shard from earlier.

(Y/n) had just noticed that Megatron's' optics were purple. She really preferred them red. Squinting her eyes, (Y/n) put a hand up to shield said eyes from the unnatural glow of dark energon. Megatron cast the shard down into the ground, being swallowed whole. The ground began to shake, before bursting open, purple light pouring out from the cracks.

(Y/n) looked up at Megatron, only to see his insignia and optics glow brighter. "Rise, my army!"

"Army? What-" (Y/n) looked down and stopped dead in her tracks.

Cybertronians began to crawl out of the ground, some with weapons, some not. They were all very sluggish, being now undead and all, and stood like an army the best they could with the cracked ground. (Y/n) had seen this with Cliffjumper, but she didn't expect to see a whole army of whatever this was hiding underneath this canyon!

"Behold, the power of dark energon!" Megatron announced loudly and proudly through the canyon.

(Y/n) watched as the zombie Decepticons limped or moved their way over towards Optimus and the other mech. She kept a firm hand on he hilt of her sheathed blade. Megatron wouldn't try to make her fight, right? If he did, how would she even fight them?

"There, (Y/n). Play your cards right, and you will be an officer that can command these mindless beasts." Megatron grumbled next to her.

      "What about Starscream? Or Soundwave?"

"Starscream is a pompous fool who lets his wits get in the way of his survival instincts, he'd end up destroying the whole army or himself. Soundwave does not simply talk, though I'm sure you're well aware." Megatron remarked.

"So why me then?" (Y/n) looked up at Megatron.

Megatron didn't answer. Instead he gazed down at the army closing in on the two mechs, both of them beginning to fight. (Y/n) decided not to push her luck anymore. Megatron said all she had to do was stay by his side, right? Well, up here, away from the undead army and the Autobots, that would be simple.

"I guess Starscream runs away a lot," (Y/n) mumbled to herself. "Otherwise this test wouldn't be me staying by his side."

"Starscreams cowardice is as strong a presence as a rock under my plating." Megatron spat, narrowed optics still watching the army.

"He would run from this, Lord Megatron? Forgive me, for overstepping my bounds, but I believe you may need a new second-in-command." (Y/n) gestured to the army with her free hand. "You are clearly in control of the army, and we are elevated high enough."

"If only his knowledge wasn't overshadowed by his stupidity." Megatron grumbled.

(Y/n) choked out a snicker. She knew Starscream could be a coward, especially when a situation calls for someone brave that has a disadvantage. The only time he's been able to keep his cool is when everything was calm, or the enemy was held back or chained up, and he had free reign.

A cool breeze flowed through, ruffling (Y/n)'s (hair color) hair, and her one hand quickly worked to still it. Megatron said nothing about the sudden gush of wind, the dust that rolled through and hit his leg he barely felt. He had been too focused on the army anyway. When he spoke again, he startled (Y/n).

"I have mastered dark energon. When you fall, Optimus, you too shall join my army." Megatron smirked.

(Y/n) saw Optimus slice at the zombies with more anger, more determination, in order to get close and fight Megatron, no doubt. Once again, a wave of longing was sent through (Y/n) for the dark energon. The power Megatron radiated had sent her reeling - she wanted that herself. The two Autobots were now close enough that (Y/n) could barely make out what they were saying, even though both of their chassis' were heaving by now.

"Optimus...this prolonged exposure to dark energon...is sapping our strength." The white and orange mech panted.

"We cannot falter now." Optimus grunted, charging back into the closing crowd, the white and orange mech following in the opposite direction.

(Y/n) made a mental note to ask Soundwave who that mech was. The Decepticon database has all the information on every bot post war, there had to be at least a name for this mech. She could care less about his Autobot occupation, but it seems like they would know fairly well who he is, given Megatron's own nickname for him. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, continued to watch Optimus and the other mech wear themselves out in battle, all the while salivating over dark energon power.

This test should be an easy one.
