After a long while of shopping for new clothes, shoes, accessories and other things for JD and I, I made my way back to the car about six minutes early. It would've been eight minutes, but I forgot we had a different car now...

"This is sh*t, f*ck*ng bull-sh*t!" The car echoes. Not the car, the boy. From out the lined back window of the car, JD slammed his head into the wheel, clutching to his brown lockes. I slowly back away from the car... maybe I can find an ice-cream shop to go to. But nevermind, he looks back and finds me through the car mirror. He motions for me to get in the car.

"What'd you buy?" His eyebrow raises, his bloodshot eyes slowly turning cream again.

I pull out many articles of clothing, each around 10-15 dollars, as to not be in the same clothes for days on end.

"Flannel?" He teasingly asks. "You know me so well." JD's smile meets my eyes again. He doesn't do it often, but when he smiles, it breaks you.

"I figured! It's the only thing you ever wear." I pick up some of my clothes and flip flops that I removed from the bag and placed them back in. "And you,"

JD takes a Wal-mart bag from under his feet, plops it in the middle of our two seats. Rushed, he takes out the innards.

"Pocketknives, socks, and hair-dye." At the word hair-dye, his mouth twists into a smirk.

"What colors?" I ponder.

"brown for you, and I'll just bleach mine."

Is he stupid? That's what the cops will expect!

"Or," He pauses, "You can dye it blue."

"I change my mind, brown will be fine so long as you like brunettes," I joke.

"Always!" He sticks his pinkie out for no reason.

"So now what. Motels? Back to the house?"

"We can't go back to the house, our faces would be in near motels, and definitely not sherwood."

"Agreed, that's out of the question."

"Where would we go then?"

I twiddle my thumbs thinking for an answer, not noticing JD was staring at me.

"Heather, are we dating," His eyes squint in the sun.

"What?"

"I said where are we staying."

"Oh," I pause, with my cheeks ever so subtly pink.

"Anyways, we don't have to pay to stay somewhere."

"What do you mean?" I respond.

"Well, hotels cost money, we don't know anyone we can stay with that won't rat us out." He brushes his hair backwards. "However, this car doesn't have records. This car, is new and fresh-"

"Get to the point, JD." I refute.

"I got this car from one of the cops, I knew him a few years ago. I won a bet, he gave me the stuff, and now we're here. This car is in his name."

"Jason Dean, get to the fucking point."

"Okay! Fine! We can sleep in the car."
