Kade groaned as he slowly picked himself up off the ground, his senses too hazy to be aware of the lava slowly creeping towards him. Suddenly he was hosed down by a large stream of water, Kade sputtering and coughing as he turned to see Heatwave standing near him as he hosed down the rest of the lava and fire. "You're welcome...partner." Heatwave said with some reluctance.

.:We've cleared out most of downtown, but the lava won't quit.:. Chief Burns reported, his face appearing on one of the monitors. .:If we can't plug the leak soon, I'll need you to send out an island-wide evacuation order.:. "You got it, Dad." Cody replied. "But let me call someone first." Cody pressed a button on the control panel as he called a friend he thinks might be able to help. "Doc Greene, you there?" The monitor was fuzzy for a second before it showed Doc Greene smiling at the trio but the picture was upside down. "Why is he upside down?" Robin whispered to Alice as Cody hit the monitor a few times to see if it'd correct the image. "Probably another of his experiments. Doc's quirky like that." Alice replied. .:Do not adjust your monitor. I'm upside down over here, too.:. Doc said. Alice shot Robin a knowing smile making the teen roll her eyes.

"I'm testing my theory that I can solve equations faster when all my blood is collected in my head." Doc explained. .:Doc, is there a volcano on the island we don't know about?:. Cody asked, him and Alice completely used to Doc's crazy methods while Robin stared at him with a perplexed look. "No, but there is one we do know about-Mt. Magma, built for the world's fair in 1939." Doc explained. "That's when they invented deep-fried cotton candy." .:You're kidding.:. Robin questioned. .:How do you deep-fry cotton candy?:. "Excellent question, young lady." Doc complimented as he began to explain. "You see, the sugar fell into the hot oil and-"

"Doc, how can a fake volcano spew real lava into the sewers?" Alice cut in. .:Well, the volcano is fake, but the lava isn't.:. Doc explained, grabbing a pad and pencil as he continued. .:When Mt. Magma was moved here, the engineers sunk a pipe deep into the earth's core.:. Doc showed the trio his diagram he'd drawn before realizing it was upside down and flipped it rightside up. .:Pent up pressure in the core could push lava back up the pipe, but the top of the volcano is sealed, so the lava would come out wherever it could. Like the sewers.:. Doc added more details to his drawing and showed the trio as he continued. .:The pressure would keep forcing lava out until it covered the whole island. Uh, that would take about 4.7 hours.:. Doc grabbed a stopwatch and pressed the stop button. .:Ah, shaved a full second off my calculation time. Hanging upside down really does work.:. "Doc, this is for real." Cody said, simplifying the seriousness of the situation.

Doc grunted as he righted himself. .:Then, you have to get rid of the lava pressure immediately.:.

Doc walked over to a nearby table and grabbed a bottle of soda as he continued his explanation. "Think of the volcano as a giant fizzy bottle. To get rid of the pressure, you open it a little at a time." Doc shook the soda a bit and slowly began to open the lid. "A small, controlled eruption should take care of your lava problem, but don't open the lid fast, or..." Doc quickly opened the lid of the soda only for it's contents to go shooting out in all directions, the display speaking loud and clear.

Later That Night

Blades slowly lowered down another cement block with Chase directing him where to place it, Heatwave and Boulder both setting down two more blocks of cement as they cordoned off the last of the lava. "All right, team." Chief Burns spoke up, reporting to his family what Cody and the girls had told him. "I just got off the com with Cody, Alice and Robin. They say we can stop this lava, but we have to erupt a volcano to do it." Blades landed, letting Dani out, and transformed into his robot mode. "And that's the safest option?" he asked nervously. "It's the only option." Chief Burns confirmed. "I won't lie-things might get hairy. If the volcano goes off too fast...we could get caught in the lava." Chief Burns turned to the Rescue Bots who stood off to the side. "I'll understand if you don't want to be part of this mission. It's dangerous. Griffin Rock isn't your home."
