Chapter 13

Emma~

          I was having a nice conversation with David when Mary Margarete bursts through the door. Once again. I sigh and laugh. David jumped this time.

"Holy shit! Snow you can't keep on doing this to me!" David yells trying to catch his breath.

"Oh! Sorry. I need you to come with me David." She demands softly.

"But I need to stay with Emma. We need to stay with Emma." He says firmly.

"Emma's a big girl now come." David doesn't budge. This is funny. "Now David."

"OK ok I'm coming." David says as he throws his hands up in the air admitting defeat. He leaves the room with Mary Margret.

"Finally. A bit of peace." I whisper to myself as I lay down.

"Love? Is it ok if I come in?" Killian asks. I sigh once again and sit up.

"Yeah sure. Come in." I tell him with a smile. He hesitantly comes in the room. "Is something wrong? You look nervous."

"Is it that obvious. Sorry love." He chuckles as he scratches the back of his head with his hand. He then slowly walks by my hospital bed. He then sits down in the chair right beside me. "Emma Swan. I've spent many of days by your side. Fighting by your side. Fighting for you. I spend my days protecting you because you are the only thing in life that keeps me alive. After I lost Milah, I turned into a monster. But you. You pulled me out of the darkness and into the light. I will forever love you and your beautiful smile and calming touch. Will you please do me the honors," he then gets down on one knee and pulls out a small velvet box. I can feel tears sliding down my face. I cover my mouth with my hands. "In becoming my wife?"

"Oh my God. I just. I. Yes. Forever yes!" I yell. He then gently grasps my left hand and slips on the engagement ring. It was beautiful. It was in crested with a beautiful golden color with a giant diamond in the middle surrounded by a whole bunch of other diamonds. I admire the ring as he gets up and pulls me into a giant bear hug. I don't dare fight the tears like I've been doing all my life. Then David bursts through the door.

"What the hell is this?!" He yells angry. Killian jumps and let's me go. David get up in Killian's face. "How dare you?! This is my only daughter! You didn't even have the dignity to ask me for a blessing?! I forbid you from ever seeing, talking, and especially marrying my daughter!"

"Look mate-" Killian tries to protest. Bad idea.

"Don't call me your mate! I want you out of my face now! I don't ever want to see you near my family again!" David continues yelling.

"David just calm down. Let's just-" I try to tell him.

"Shut up Emma! You don't get a say in this!" That hurt me. I'm done with him controlling my life.

"I am a grown woman! And I do get a say in who I spend my life with! So just calm the fuck down and let's talk this through." I demand.

"No. I want him out. Now." David says.

"Don't move Killian." I tell Killian as he was just about to move. He makes this awkward face. Its like he is being torn in between the both of us. "David. You have no right to tell me who I can and can't be with. I would appreciate you blessing but if you refuse I could care less. I love Killian. And this is what I want. Why can't you just understand that?" I say sadly.

"Do you really love him?" He asks sincerely. Sort of calming down.

"Yes Dad." I say trying to get on his good side. He sighs almost admitting defeat.

"Your just like your mother you know that right? You never give up. Fine. I'll allow this to go on." He swiftly turns back to Killian. "The first sign of sadness I'll have your head for it." David threatened as he walked away. Killian turns back to me.

"Well that went well." He says putting on one of his famous smirks.
