Chapter 5
"Let's play this one next!"

"O-okay!"

Hinata trotted after Naruto as he bolted to another game station, struggling to carry the various plush animals he'd already won. Several passersby snickered lightheartedly as they saw the couple pass. Only Hinata seemed to have the patience to keep up with Naruto's rambunctious exuberance.

Hinata watched in admiration and slight exasperation as Naruto won yet another prize, this time a little orange fox. He triumphantly presented it to her. When she took a second to look it over, she decided it was her favorite. The fox's face was set in a crooked grin, much like Naruto's, and was even the same shade of orange as his favorite hoodie.

Naruto sped off to another game and Hinata had to actually run to catch up. It was March, and a carnival had come to town. Naruto had immediately asked Hinata to attend the event with him, much to her delight. She'd never been to the carnival before and was excited to go to her first one with her first boyfriend. This time when the game attendee handed him his prize, she also offered a large plastic bag to Hinata, along with a sympathetic smile. Hinata mouthed her thanks and put all the prizes into the bag.

Naruto gripped his abdomen as his stomach grumbled.

"Wanna get something to eat? I'm starving."

"Sure."

They found a concession stand. Naruto ordered a large plate of nachos, a funnel cake, two slices of pizza, and two large lemonades for the both of them. They sat at a nearby picnic table to eat.

"Naruto! Hinata!" Sakura called out to them as she walked up, dragging a disgruntled looking Sasuke behind her. She carried a few prizes of her own in a smaller version of the bag Hinata had.

"Hey, Sakura, Sasuke! Come sit with us, I got plenty of food!"

"Thanks, we were just about to get some." Sakura sat down next to Hinata, Sasuke taking a seat on her other side. Naruto pushed the plaes of food more to the center so everyone could easily reach, and offered them his drink.

"Me and Hinata can share one, and you guys can share one," he explained.

When the group finished eating and the empty containers were thrown away, they returned to the picnic tables.

"I'm surprised you got this guy out of the apartment, Sakura," Naruto joked.

"It wasn't easy. But we both needed a break. School's been so rough this semester," Sakura replied.

"Especially when we have to do our work and help you with yours," chimed in Sasuke.

"Hey well you offered."

"Yeah but only because I didn't wanna see you get kicked out and mope around."

"You already mope enough for the both of us."

The two boys laughed off their exchange of insults. Hinata and Sakura exchanged knowing looks. Despite how much they bickered, you couldn't find two better friends than Naruto and Sasuke.

"So where are you guys going next?" Naruto asked.

Sasuke shrugged.

"We already went through the games."

"Heh, And you only won a few prizes?"

"I didn't play all the games by myself."

"Oh, uh sorry Sakura, hehe." Sakura rolled her eyes, but chuckled when she saw the large bag sitting next to Naruto.

"Geez, Naruto. Did you get the biggest prize from each game?"

"Nah, just the coolest looking. One of those is for Hinata's sister though. Her birthday is coming up and Hinata said she likes monkeys, so there's one in there for her.
