Rarity woke up to the pain of her head throbbing, and the light from outside the window currently blinding her eyes. She decided to keep her eyes closed for a couple moments since the room still seemed to be spinning- not to mention the terrible taste left in her mouth.
how much did she drink last night?
She feels unusually cold, reaching blindly for a blanket and horribly failing. It's then when the realization hits her that this isn't her bed and she isn't in her hotel. Immediately, she springs upward, sitting upright and letting out an audible gasp at the recognition that she was practically naked, save for her bra and underwear.
Rarity's too caught up in her own confusion that she almost misses the quiet snoring coming from-
fuck.
She's almost afraid to look- to see who she already knows is sleeping right next to her, still dead to the world. Her snores are barely audible in the quiet of the morning, and Rarity hates how her eyes pick up every single detail about her bedside companion.
Applejack is sleeping on her back, one arm tucked behind her head and the other resting on her bare stomach, since she was in the same predicament as Rarity when it came to her clothing- or lack thereof. The purple haired woman doesn't even want to go down that path of trying to figure out if they.. yeah.
The other woman's face is completely relaxed, as if sleep was the only time she could truly de-stress. Rarity liked seeing her friend this way- completely unburdened by the struggles of the world. Even back when they were younger, Applejack seemed to carry the weight of the universe on her shoulders.
Her hair is completely loose from the bun she'd had it in the night before, letting blonde locks splay across the pillow she was laying on. Some strands even fell in front of her freckled face, and Rarity had to resist the urge to reach out and brush them out of the way.
Rarity's face suddenly goes red when her stupid eyes flicker down to the blonde's toned stomach, unable to keep her gaze away from the other woman's bare muscled abdomen.
She can only manage to look away when Applejack finally stirs, causing Rarity to pull the blanket over her own chest just as her friend's eyes flutter open, using her other hand to shield the sunlight from blinding her eyes just as it had Rarity's.
It almost takes a second for Applejack to fully comprehend the situation they were both in, because it's completely silent between the two of them for a second, before the blonde's eyes widen.
"What in t-" the other woman stammers, sitting up as well and realizing the current state of dress they were both in. Rarity notices the slight flush of Applejack's cheeks, and she isn't exactly sure if it's from the embarrassment of their situation, or from seeing Rarity practically half naked in bed beside her. In Rarity's opinion, most likely both, "what the hell?"
"I was wondering the same thing," Rarity quips after clearing her throat, proud of herself for not screaming and freaking out. "I suppose we had a little too much to drink last night."
"Clearly."
There's a moment of silence between the two of them, and they both simultaneously scan around Applejack's bedroom, looking to see if either of their clothes were scattered across the floor.
Rarity spots Applejack's red button up polo hanging slightly out of the hamper that was sitting in the corner of the bedroom. Her own dress was nowhere to be seen on the other hand, which only made the purple haired woman question the.. activities of last night even more than she already was.
"I- uh. You probably wanna shower or something, so you can use the bathroom over there," Applejack tells her, tilting her head in the direction of a door that was connected to the bedroom. "If you still can't find your dress, I guess you can borrow one of my shir-"
