Ch. 1

Hi I'm Kenzie but you can call me kenz. I'm 16 years old I used to have a big family but now it's just me and my abusive dad. You might wonder why when I was five my brother snuck out and my mom got worried I didn't want to tell her where he went for I knew where he was. But I promised him not to tell. Mom went out looking for him and got in a car crash but didn't survive. My brother and I got in so much trouble because if that we tried to run but no he got us in one room and beat us til we couldn't walk he would do that all the time but we wouldn't let him hurt our little sister for she was only a baby. Our dad started leaving the house for business so one of us would stay home and take care of little sister while the other would go to school and we would take turns. When we got older my brother started doing online just to take care of her but one day while I was taking care of my sister he left and I never saw him again. With my sister I left and she wasn't there don't worry she was 12 but I saw a note from Carson my brother he took my sister so she wouldn't have to deal with my dad when she got older. So now everyday my dad would hit me because everyone left and he always said that it was my fault I believed it because I didn't stop them. That's how my family went and it was sad to see that. I was going to sleep because tomorrow I need to go to school.

Johnny prov
Hi I'm Johnny Ijust turned 17 years old. My family is normal sort of. My sister is 16 and my parents well they don't have time for us because of their business. They own a maple syrup company. So I don't get to see them much because their always on business trips.
At school I'm pretty popular and even though I'm popular I still have good grades. Well that's all I dont live an exciting life. I was going to sleep because tomorrow is a new semester.

Next day

I woke up and took a shower and got dressed.

And I went to school in my car.

I woke up took a shower and got an outfit to cover all my bruises and scares.

I walk downstairs without making any noice and left to school. While I enter school I went to my locker and I felt someone tap my shoulder.
K- oh hi um you new here
A- yea I'm Annie
K- oh nice to meet you I'm Mackenzie but I prefer Kenzie
A- what about kenz
K- yea I like it so what classes you have
She shows me and I put my schedule net to here and we have all our together but we have two different ones
K- where's your locker
A- right next to yours
K- ok oh I have good name for you
A- what is it
K- Ann's
A- oh I kinda like it
K- ok so where you from

We started talking and we left for our classes and at lunch we sat at a table. And talked until a girl walked up to us.

L- hi can I sit here
K- umm yea sure
A- what's your name
L- Lauren
A- well im Annie and this is kenz
K- hi
L- yea I saw you in my class
A- yea which one
L- all of them except one right now so yea I thought we could be friends
K- yea sore

We started talking and we went to our classes the ones without them were not fun so we made a group chat to text it was the end of the day and I had my class with Annie it was math my least favorite. We had a test. When the teacher was passing them out she was say something to the kids
Teacher- well done, great job
And when she got to me
Teacher- try a little more
K- I'm sorry
Teacher- it's ok
And she kept going I just put my head down. For the rest of the class the bell rang and the teacher told me to stay we this kid named Johnny.
Teacher- kenz I don't want you starting this semester with a low grade so I thought Johnny here can help you.
K- yea sure
Teacher- ok Johnny you ok with helping out kenz
J- yeah
Teacher- ok you two can leave

I got out of the room where Annie was waiting for me.
J- hey Kenzie
K- um sup
J- can you give your phone number so we can talk
K- yea sure
I gave him my phone number and me and Annie left to the mall. We did some shopping and I was close to getting caught with my bruises.
A- please let me choose an outfit
K- only if it doesn't show to much skin that all
A- yes let's go
She bought me like a whole new closet. I went home and run to my room to put everything in my closet and I got my outfit that Annie told me to wear and it was dark already so I finished so homework and I texted Johnny if he can help me with my homework. We FaceTimed and he helped me we talk and got to know each other I didn't even know Lauren had a brother and that brother was Johnny. We ended to call and I went down to get a snack because for once I was hungry. I went to the kitchen and I heard the door opening so I took water and a granola bar and ran to my room and locked myself because I knew my dad wanted to hit me I ate my granola bar and took a shower brushed my teeth and hair and fell asleep.
The next day I woke up and changed to my outfit

But I had Air Force instead of high heels and my stomach didn't show that much o it was perfect. I went downstairs and my dad was in the kitchen.

Dad- uhh no wonder you have no friends you dress like a slut. I want you to come straight home yesterday you didn't come and if you don't come you will pay for it
K- ok

I left and went to school. I was quiet because I was thinking why he wasn't yelling at me that much. Do I really look like a slut the morning pass and it was lunch. I sat on the table where we sat yesterday and they were worried because I didn't say a word

L- hey kenz you um hungry
A- yea I didn't see you eat today and we'll I know you didn't eat yesterday
K- um I'm fine I ate a apple this morning
A- that's not enough
L- yea your starving yourself
K- no I'm not I can eat when ever I want but I'm not hungry right now
L- um ok so you guys wanna stay at my house in the weekend
A- yesss and it's good because we can go to your house tomorrow sense it's Friday and stay the whole weekend
L- yea so what about you kenz
K- um yea
L- ok that's it what's wrong
K- um nothing
A- yes there is
L- is this about my brother because if it is
K- no it's um family stuff
A- oh ok sooo you and Johnny
L- # ummm oh jenzie
K- stop we are just friends
L- what ever you say

The rest of the day went past and I went home and when I open the door there my dad stood I knew what was about to happen...
