If a vase shatters, and you're left to pick up the pieces, do you

A. Fix the vase?
Or,
B. Throw the shards away and get a new vase?

If you fixed the vase, think of how it looks now. It's been shattered and rebuilt, it will never be the same vase as it was before. Was it worth it? To look at it, and only be able to think about how it shattered, and the hassle it was to put it back together?
If you bought a new one, then why? Did you choose not to go through the trouble of taping/gluing it back together meticulously? Think of this new vase, and the new memories you'll make with it. It's shiny and brand new, does it need protected?

Now view the vase as a person.

When this person is broken down, do you lend them a hand? Or do you encourage them to move on, to start anew?
