"Hey, I have some good news." At the sound of my voice, Savannah turns her head from the window. I move to take my usual place at the side of her bed in the blue visitors' seat. "Yeah, so, the doctors think that we can move you out of here in a couple of days." Her face lights up. "No, not like that." It falls again. "I spoke with Dr Peters last night as well as another doctor, Dr Anderson. He's going to be your new doctor when you move to recovery." A confused look appears on her face. "Recovery is where you go to recuperate and to just make sure that you're stable enough to go home. Normally, people spend a couple of months in recovery after what you've been through." The confusion disappears and understanding replaces it. "Anyway, that's my lot. "Do you have any news?" She shakes her head. "Ok then." I smile at her and she returns it. "Well, I'm going to tell you about when we went to your parents for dinner. We'd left Maisie at home with Kate, who was officially in love with the girl, by the way."

"See you later girls," Savannah called as she left the apartment. "Don't get up to too much trouble." All three of them laughed.
"Come on Anna, we're going to be late." We were already late, but Savannah didn't seem too fussed.
"I could say the same for you," I heard Kate reply to Savannah's comment. "See you later."
Savannah finally let the door close and we made our way to the car (my parents were buying another one and they'd given me the older one as an incredibly early Christmas present).
"Are you sure that you're ready for this? My folks can be very, how should I put it, extreme."
"Hey, my brother left us for the other side of the world, how extreme can it be?"
She smiled meekly and got in the car. As I turned on the ignition, she turned the radio on. Some song was on so she sang along with it. We drove to Savannah's parents' house without saying anything to each other: I was wondering how crazy they could be if they managed to raise such a perfect woman and I could tell that she was fantasising the worst outcomes that could happen after tonight. We pulled up outside and I could hear the sounds of chaos coming from inside.
"Right, are you ready for this?"
"Savannah, whatever happens in there, you understand that I'm not going to leave you, right?" She didn't say anything but nodded her head. "Alright then."
We got out of the car in almost synchronisation. I took Savanah's hand as we made our way up the path that led through their immaculate front garden to the hazelnut brown door. She pressed the doorbell and Rowan answered it almost instantly before enveloping her sister in a hug.
"Little sis! It's so nice to see you again."
"And you too, Ro." Savannah breathed out. When she was finally released, she continued. "Hey, you literally saw me two days ago."
"Yeah, about that –" The two girls entered a different room leaving me on the doorstep.
"Hello. You must be Alex." A man stepped out of a room directly across from the one that the sisters had just entered.
"Yes sir, that's me."
"Come in, come in. I'm Savannah's father, Robert Beattie, but call me Bob."
I stepped in as he closed the door behind me. "Um, should I take my shoes off, or..." I tailed off.
"You can if you want to, we don't really have strict rules about that sort of thing." I wondered what rules they did have. "Where've my daughters gone, I sent Rowan to open the door and she's vanished with Sav."
