"It'll be fun," Alice said, trying to persuade her family. No one, not even Edward or Jasper, had any idea about why she wanted to go to the Canadian Rockies.

"That's what you've said the past couple times we asked you why," Bella said.

Carlisle and Esme stood to the side, both looking lost in thought. They both felt a tug whenever Alice brought up the mountain range.

"I'm all for it," Emmett said, "We've never been before for just a vacation." That seemed to do it as one by one the others agreed and they looked to Carlisle and Esme, both still not saying anything.

"Carlisle? Esme?" Edward said, knowing their thoughts. He knew they were missing something. That their hearts cried out for a third person to complete them.

"It sounds like a lovely idea," Esme said before going upstairs to her and Carlisle's room. Carlisle's eyes followed after her, pain in his eyes. Neither of them had any clue why now this was made apparent to them, but it strained their relationship a little as both were upset about not having what they so desperately needed.

"We'll go if you want to, Alice," Carlisle said and followed his wife upstairs to comfort her.

"Well, that went well," Jacob said. Everyone went their separate ways and Alice tried her best not to squeal. They were going! Finally Esme and Carlisle would have their missing partner!

*At the cabin 30 miles east of the Canadian Rockies*

"That's the last of the bags," Emmett said, setting down a bag by the others.

"This is gonna be great," Alice said, zooming around the cabin.

"Easy, darlin'," Jasper said, reaching out to stop his excited mate, "Don't break something."

Carlisle and Esme made their way into the room as they were done looking around. The tug felt stronger here and was more insistent. So this was why Alice had brought them here, to find the other person. But why in the middle of nowhere?

"Okay, get bags upstairs but bring a backpack of clothes. We're going hiking. Renesmee, wear something a little warm. You'll need for a little while," Alice said, practically jumping up and down.

"Okay, Aunt Alice," Renesmee said. It had been about three years since the ordeal with the Volturi and Renesmee looked to be about 15.  Everyone took their bags and headed for their rooms to get ready. Carlisle took his and Esme's bags and led her to their room.

"She knows something. But then she always knows things we don't," Esme said, pulling a jacket from one of the bags to at least appear somewhat normal out in the frigid air.

"It can't be anything bad or she wouldn't be bouncing off the walls," Carlisle said, chuckling at his daughter. He set the rest of the bags down on the bed and turned to his wife.

"We'll be okay," He said, wrapping her in his arms. They were mates, of course they would be okay.

"I know. I'm just worried even if Alice is so happy about whatever this is," Esme said into his chest.

"We'll get through it. And if things go according to how Alice sees them, we'll be happier for it," Carlisle said, soothing his wife.

"Come on, guys! We gotta get going!" Alice said, knocking on the door before zooming off. Esme and Carlisle shook their heads at their daughter's excitement, but left the room and joined the others.
