By the time arnav and rest reached by pack house most of the pack including his father and mother were there, they looked worried and tense making arnav to hold kushi to himself more firmly still not getting believing he was there in correct time to save her from the worst to happen.

” arnav what happened? And we heard your howl for help” arnav mother asked as she come forward.

Arnav don't remember anything much he doesn't know he had asked for help maybe on the way here he must have, but he can't be sure, all he wanted was to make sure his mate was safe that time so arnav don't answer much as he checked kushi again who has not opened her eyes.

” kushi? Arnav what happened to her? Why she is unconscious” arnav mother come forward ” and someone call the pack doctor for goddess’s sake”

Arnav signed at his mother voice, Luna of the pack she will look after her pack and hearing her calling for doctor made arnav to feel foolish that why doesn't he think of that.

” its the rogue attack mam and I think she is alright just unconscious due to shock maybe, as you know she is human and all” a man from the group behind arnav reported

” rogue in the territory? How unusual,” the alpha questions calmly ” NK, Aman go check” alpha nodded at arnav friends before turning to the group ” and you lot are?”

” alpha sorry to interrupt but may I leave to the infirmary” arnav asked knowing it's disrespectful to leave while alpha is talking but kushi is important, and he knows the group can answer those questions and more.

” yes, you may” come the alpha voice.

Arnav left from there without a word, this is kind of things alpha’s have to do even if they want to they can't leave the guest unwelcome or behave rashly in times like these.

” arnav, as I was saying there is nothing to worry. Kushi is quite alright to expect for sprained ankle” the doctor gave him a pat after checked kushi.

Arnav stared at Kushi, his mate that lay on hospital bed without idea of how much it pains him to see her like this, her face is pale, lips dry, hand attached to IV and her foot is elevated to keep of the pressure on it. To him, she doesn't look alright it's far from it, he knew when she was alright like she was alright this morning not now, now she looked fragile, but he didn't say anything to doctor knowing it's useless to make him understand that.

” when she will be able to walk?,” arnav muttered

” oh about 2-3 weeks max, as I don't see any tearing it's just a first grade sprain” doctor answered ” dont worry she will gain conscious in about an hour or so, you can talk to her them so in time I think you should rest”

Arnav nodded even though he knows rest won't come to him not until she wakes up and maybe even after that after all it's his fault that she was in danger today if only he was fast enough she won't be in the hospital bed right now.

Arnav remained seated there for a long period of time or that what it felt like to him in-between he was visited by his parents and friends who told him it's going to be alright or Kushi is okay now, that he did good job on the rogue assuming the kongpob and his people filled them in, to all this arnav just nodded at them as he waited for Kushi to wake up.

The first thing Kushi felt when she tries to wake up is thirsty or it's the thirst that had been waked her up, but she was glad to be alive even though her mouth felt like cotton or her foot was throbbing constantly.

Kushi opened her eyes to see white ceiling, glancing around to give her location it's hospital and to her left arnav was sitting still gazing at her without blinking, he was showing no signs that he knew she was awake, so she took it to herself to shook him awake.

” arnav… Arnav” she shook his arms,

” what…? Kushi, you...” come the quite voice ” doctor… Doctor I need you here” arnav shouted!

” kushi I'm so sorry, it's my fault I don't know…” arnav started ” are you alright?.. Are you in pain? Do you need anything?.. Can you talk… Do you....” frantically questioning Kushi?

” arnav, stop you need to clam down… Okay, now I feel good. I just need water for now Kushi smiled at him hoping to clam his nerves,

” i... Okay water I can get to you that” arnav walked around the bed to corner of the room where they had kept the water and brought them to her, arnav helped her to drink the water and all, but he didn't even looked at her eyes once in that period even when she tried to make her worry.

Before she can ask him what's wrong the doctor come.

” Kushi how are you feeling”

” i feel fine except for the slight throbbing at the ankle and probably hungry too” Kushi smiled at the doctor at last part which was returned

” thats good then, the throbbing will be gone after the medication and might use some ice, and you will be good as new within two weeks” doctor informed cheerfully to which arnav made a kind of pained sound that made Kushi rise eyebrows before smiling herself, he probably thought two weeks are long because he is werewolf who will heal instantly but she is a human and all the body needs its rest to heal and mend its own time.

” can she go home now?” arnav asked in Soto voice

” yes of course just make sure there is no pressure on her ankle that's all, and you take these medications” doctor handed him a slip as arnav nodded

” are you ready kushi” arnav asked

Kushi said yes to which arnav scooped her in his arms as he carried her out of the hospital room, she smiled at his gentle holding as she wrapped her arms around his neck, but her smile dropped as she looked at his face because for the first time there was no emotion there just a stone face looking straight ahead making her frown at his lack of response to her or his refusal to look into her eyes from the time she woke up.

Kushi don't know what has been going through his mind, but she can't shake the feeling that she won't be going to like what going to happen to her or to them…

Okay guys I'm back with another chapter after almost half a year like I know it's a long time. I'm sorry I know I keep saying this, but I don't had enough energy or story to give you all, like I had hit some kind of writers block or something, I'm not that satisfied with this, but I like how it's going in my mind so yeah I hope you all liked it.

I'm not abandoning this story so yeah…

And I will be grateful to all who read, vote and comment, they help me to get back to write so thank you all.
