Chapter Four :
Party in Thornhill

As soon as the girls did get home, Tasha told their mother about Cheryl's invite to her pool party at Thornhill and Winnie smiled crookedly. Tasha didn't hesitate to give her the details and the blonde girl sighed slowly through her nose.

"And this girl's name is Cheryl Blossom?" Luna asked and the girls nodded in confirmation.

"Do you know who the Blossoms are? 'Cause we had no idea and Cheryl seemed a little offended that we didn't," Winnie said with her head slightly tilted in curiosity.

"That family isn't the kind you wanna get tangled up with," their mother said with her arms crossed over her chest and Winnie scoffed.

"A little late for that since we already told Cheryl we would be there and it would be rude to just not show up all of a sudden," she said while Tasha nodded.

"Besides, it'll give us a chance to meet some people before school starts," she said and their mother sighed.

"If you girls wanna go, just make sure you'll stay in touch and please don't get yourselves in any trouble while you're there," she said with her hands on her hips and the girls smiled as they nodded their heads.

"No worries, Ma. We'll give you a call when we get there and we'll call you again when we leave," Tasha said.

Unsurprisingly, Labour Day weekend and the day of Cheryl Blossom's pool party approached much more quickly than anticipated and Winnie was starting to get nervous about going. Maybe they shouldn't have accepted the invitation but she didn't want to be rude on her first impression. Even Tasha noticed how the part was starting to stress Winnie out and decided to poke some fun at her while she was reading idly in her bedroom.

"Cut it out, Tas," the blonde said as she glared at her sister over the worn out pages of the novel in her hands.

"What? Are you really that stressed over a pool party?" Tasha asked as she sat down on the edge of Winnie's bed and she sighed as she rested her book in her lap.

"I am going to be seeing these people five days a week at school and I don't want it to turn out like New York," she snapped.

"Please. It can't be any worse than those girls who used to pick on you. Katy and Veronica?" Tasha asked and Winnie scoffed.

"Remember when they made that girl drink gutter water and she had to transfer schools and get a therapist? Yeah, I'm not sure if anyone could be worse than that but I sure as hell do not wanna find out," she said as she tried to get back to her novel.
