Arthit's phone pinged!

"I will be there in half an hour, P'."

Arthit's heartbeat increased. Kongpob would be here soon. What should he do? What did Kongpob expect? Yes, he had assured him that they would just spend time in each other's company but would that be it? Would Kongpob be able to keep that promise? Should he just call and cancel? Should he ask Kongpob not to come? He lifted his phone again and started to type

"Kongpob... something has come up..." he deleted it.

"Kong... there was a call from home..." he deleted it.

"Kong... I have to leave..." he deleted it.

"Kong, I can't do this..." he stared at the message he had typed. Should he send it?

"Shit! What am I doing? That would be unfair. No... I can't do this to him. I too want to spend time with him," Arthit muttered.

A message popped up.

"P' what are you typing so much? Is something wrong?" Arthit freaked out seeing the message from Kongpob, and in his nervousness, accidentally hit send.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" He rushed to delete the message, and in his panic, he forgot to check if Kongpob had read it. Now he was not sure if Kongpob had read it or not. There was no reaction or response from Kongpob either. Shit! What should he do?

Crap! Kongpob would have felt bad if he had seen it. Damn it! He decided he will wait for him and talk to him face to face and share his fears. He waited patiently for Kongpob to reach. It was almost an hour, and he still had not arrived. Had Kongpob read it and changed his mind. Crap! Why did he do such stupid things!

Arthit called Kongpob, but there was no response. He waited for ten minutes before trying again. Again, no response. He was sure Kongpob had read that message. Shit!

No! He is just overthinking this. Maybe Kongpob was stuck somewhere en route.

Maybe there was some emergency... His heart thudded. What if Kongpob was hurt or injured? Scared, he grabbed his keys and mobile and rushed out of his room. He had no idea where he would go to look for Kongpob, but he knew he couldn't stay in the room any longer, waiting unsure.

His panic was short-lived, for when he turned into the lift lobby, he found his boyfriend sitting on his haunches leaning on the wall next to the lift door. He felt the weight of dread leave him. Heaving a sigh of relief he whispered

"Kong!"

Stunned, Kongpob looked up, and what Arthit saw broke his heart a bit. Kongpob looked like a small lost child, eyes big and confused.

"Kong!" he called this time strongly, and Kongpob stood, a bit wobbly.

"P'Arthit! I... I came to... give you...th...this," he lifted the big packet next to him. Arthit stared at the packet and then at his boyfriend.

"Kong?"

"I just... I just wanted to..." Kongpob paused. Taking a deep breath, he tried to bring his emotions under control. Sighing, he said, "Here P'. For you! I had already purchased this. I wanted to drop this off," Kongpob tried to smile, though the smile didn't reach his eyes.

Arthit felt small. He could see the crushed hopes on Kongpob's face, and he was the reason behind it. After giving him hope, his insecurity caused Kongpob pain. And yet Kongpob was here, trying to smile and cover his disappointment. He walked up to Kongpob, and instead of taking the packet from him, he wrapped his hands around his wrist and dragged him to his room. Once inside, he turned to look at him, ashamed.
