Chapter18

Sasuke pov

"Man that was ... " Shikamaru said softly as we walked out of the door. It took about an hour for my brother and I to explain the story of the lost child.

"Don't say anything. Everything you heard in that room stays in that room. As Itachi already said." I said seriously as I avoided eye contact.

That story was a dark part of the Uchiha clan. It had happened before the fall of the uchiha clan.

Although it wasn't long before it happened. Maybe a month or two had passed before they happened between eachother.

Yes the two stories were intertwined.
But what the history books had written was wrong. They got the stories wrong.

But thats probably because the fall of the uchiha clan had happened 500 years ago.

"Yeah I got it." Shikamaru said looking at me. I took a glance over at him to see his expression about the story my brother and I had just told. What I saw was what I was expecting. After all nothing escapes his eyes or ears. He has the IQ over 200. I knew he'd pick up on it. He knew our deepest secret. Although I had a feeling he wouldn't risk speaking of it. And as long as he didn't meant we were in the clear. Of him. For now I guess.

"Is this the cafeteria?" I asked as we walked I to a clearing. We were surrounding by buildings so it wasn't very big. Even so it looked nice. There was a large cherry blossom tree, a Sakura tree, in the center of the clearing.

"Hey Shikamaru." I heard a masculine voice speak up. Turning to see the person who spoke I saw something I wasn't prepared for.

"Sasuke?" Her voiced was laced with confusion. Her short pink hair combed nicely. Her eyes wide stricken with fear as she laid eyes on me. Her hands started to visibly shake. She feared me. Me and my brother. She knew who we were. She knew not of our deepest clan secrets, like Shikamaru does, only our line of work.

I don't know how she knows of us but she's another one we've been hunting down. Brother and I have some unanswered questions for her. But after that we plan on silencing her.

For good.

After all there's no better way to keep a secret then to take it with you to the grave.

"Have you been here long?" I asked her keeping my voice to a dangerously calm tone. I glanced around me only to see her surrounded by many. A few of them happened to be Neji and Naruto.

I closed my eyes to calm my breathing before I lost my composure.

"Yeah I have." She said. I opened my eyes to see her calm. All fear had left her.

I frowned at that. If she thought she was safe because there were many people beside her then she was wrong.

"You have it wrong." I said softly frowning down at her as I moved to stand a few feet in front of her.

"Have what wrong?" She asked playing innocent. It ticked me off. She was feigning ignorant.

I glared down at her before walking away but not before catching a glance at Naruto. He was smiling at me. That caught my attention.

I frowned in confusion stopping just short of the doorway of leaving the clearing.

After thinking a few minutes I gestured with my head for him to follow me. I didnt think it would matter considering he sat by himself. No one would follow us nor wonder and ask questions.

*Zzz*

I checked my phone messages as he gathered his things.

Neji-
Dont do it.

I frowned before slipping it back into my pocket. I glanced behind me to see him sitting in between a boy with a bowl cut hair and a girl with brown hair in twin buns.

He shook his head as if warning me not to engage him. He knew my line of work. He knew I could handle myself. So why would he warn me of Naruto? Nothing is scarier to an Uchiha except THAT man.

I rolled my eyes in response before turning my attention back to Naruto who was now standing at my side.

"Ready?" He asked me in a excited tone. He sure did confuse me. He knew nothing of me, that I know of, but he was willing to follow me.

And if I was going to be honest with you he was really cute. He was definitely my type. But I was already warned not to get involved. With anyone.

"Lets go." I said turning to leave but not before listening to the whispers that now surrounded us.
