you fixed your white tank top as you wrapped a black jacket around you. you tightened your belt as you tucked your tank top in. you were done with your daily run this morning, it was now the afternoon. you've always been an active person, or at least you have been trying to.
ever since your father got hospitalized due to health issues, you've decided to never take your health for granted. you began running more, doing more sports and active things like mountain climbing, hiking, etc. you even began to quit smoking.
your mother even seemed to look weaker due to your fathers condition. it made you feel like you were the only one who took things for granted. you sighed as you looked at the picture of you three.
you heard a knock on your door, you turned to the door and walked over to it. you opened the door. takahashi, your best friend. you've been knowing him since you guys were kids. takahashi smiled as he walked in.
"why do you look so depressing" takahashi told you as he leaned on your counter and looked at you. he lived a completely different life from you, he had healthy caring parents who had everthing together. "did you finally look in the mirror?" takahashi said jokingly, you turned to him as he laughed. you scoffed as he continued to laugh. he was always playing around and joking.
"did you finally realize how dumb you are?" you asked him with a slight joking tone in your voice. takahashi stopped laughing as he heard you. "i was just joking.." he said, you nodded. " yeah yeah "you said as you walked to the door.
"why are you here anyways?" you asked him as he followed behind you. "i got in a fight with my dad" takahashi said as you both walked out of your apartment. " takahashi " you said as you both walked to the elevator. "i know.. i was wondering if i could stay over for a couple days" takahashi said.
"mhh... i guess.." you said as the elavator began to go down. takahashi cheered as he smiled. "you really need to stop arguing with your parents" you told him, he sighed as he turned to you. "they expect to much from me.." takahashi said, you reached into your pocket and pulled out a lollipop.
"i dont want to do what they do... i just want to live life the way i do" takahashi told you, you put the lollipop in your mouth as you nodded. his parents were always strict, they always told him what to do.
"they think im a failure" takahashi said as he sighed, you watched as his mood went own. "your not " you said as you shook your head. " now stop being like that, that doesn't match you" you told him as you slapped his back, he winced a bit. " are you going to follow me still?" you asked him as the elavator was still going down, he nodded. "i have nothing else to do... plus i like bothering you" takahashi said as he smirked a bit.
you turned to him and kicked his leg lightly, he yelped. "oww.. why did you do that?" takahashi said as he looked at you. " you're annoying sometimes" you told him as you took out the lollipop out of your mouth. " that's my job " takahashi said teasingly, you glared at him threatening him with your arm going up.
he laughed as he slightly grabbed your arm, "ok i'll stop now " takahashi said making you put your arm down. you put the lollipop back in your mouth as you watched the elavator number.
the lights suddenly flickered, you looked up as the lights continued to flicker. " what the.." you said as the elavator stopped. the door opened, the lights turned off as the door opened.
you turned to takahashi as he also seemed confused, he shrugged as he walked out of the elavator. you followed behind him. the lights were off and there was no one around. " where is everybody? " you said as you looked around to see no one.
usually there would be at least more than one person down at the lobby but there was none. " was it this lonely when you got here? " you asked takahashi, he shook his head. " there was people and the lights were on" takahashi said in a confused tone.
you looked around again, it looked as if it wasnt touched in days. " you dont think theres... zombies?" takahashi asked you, you turned to him as you smacked the back of head. " dont say that.." you scolded him, he held onto his head.
"dont jinx it" you added as you began walking to the doors. takahashi followed you. you walked outside to only see some pieces of trash on the ground. you turned to takahashi as he also looked around.
" it wasnt this lonely this morning " you said confused on why nobody was out. there was no explanation or reason for it to be this lonely, it never has been like this. you held onto your lollipop as you walked over to the cars that were empty.
takahashi walked over to the other side seeing no one as well. " is there anyone? " you asked him, he shook his head. "no there's no one over here" takahashi said as he walked over to you, he ran a hand through his hair. you sighed as you put your lollipop back in your mouth.
" what do we do? "you asked him, usually you would not ask him. but now it was only you two, at least you thought so. " lets look around" takahashi said, you noddded.
you followed behind takahashi. sometimes he could be very smart most of the time only when he wants to. you guys walked into a convenience store. there was no one again, you walked to the candy section. you grabbed a couple of lollipops and put them in your pocket. you went over to takahashi who was at the front of the store.
" theres no one here " takahashi said as he turned to you. " what is happening " you asked as you both began walking to the door. " are we somewhere else? " takahashi asked, you shrugged. all these questions you had but couldn't be answered.
