We reached my house, Bren and I out of breath. We sat down on my front stoop and I sighed, which sounded like a walrus having an asthma attack. Bren looked over at me and smiled whilst still panting. We stayed seated there for a little bit, watching the occasional squirrel dig up the lawn searching for his acorns with that "Oh god, where did I put them?!" look on its face. I got up and unlocked the door to my almost pathetically small house and pushed the door open, revealing the plain interior. I liked my house. It was quiet, which was perfect for my work as a chemist. It was cozy, and had all the space I needed. Bren stepped inside as I set down my stuff on my desk chair. I slid off my coat and turned to Bren. I can tell he was still embarassed and amazed by our hand-holding. "What now?" I breathed. Bren looked at me with those hollow, expressionless eyes that I found strangely appealing. He shrugged and I blushed, looking down at the floor after deciding I returned his gaze too long. "I have an idea." He said after seconds of silence. I looked up at him. "Why don't you show me what you've been working on?" I nodded slowly and led him to the lab. I turned the knob carefully and led Bren inside. "Don't touch anything." I warned and he nodded hesitantly as if he wanted to be a doofus and play around with my chemicals like 'Hey Rose, what does this do?' but decided against it. One of the few things he knew was that my chems were dangerous. He walked as gingerly as he possibly cound over to a counter and poked a jar of steaming grey liquid. "Don't touch that." I said to Bren, and the bottle started violently shaking. I entered Panic Mode and shoved Bren out of the lab a I fastened my goggles over my eyes. I dove for the liquid and turned the test tube upside down. Breathing a sigh of releif, I brought in Bren and smacked him. I put the argon on my shelf and took his arm and led him out of the lab. "Sorry, Rose. I'm really sorry. Like, really really sorry." "It's fine. Don't do it again." I said and flopped on my bed.
