Summary: Running into an old friend leads to a jealous Din to confess his feelings for you.

----

"We'll be landing here for the night, I need to make a few repairs before I do the last bounty." The Mandalorian pointed to his navigation. "It is mostly just forests and very few civilizations. "

"Sounds good to me, Din." You nodded while holding Grogu on your lap. The little creature looked up at you and coo'd with a smile, showing his small teeth. "I am sure there will be plenty of bugs and frogs for you to munch on." Grogu seeming to like that. "I think we are low on bacta packs and food, will we be able to get that here on this planet?"

"We should be able to. I have to pick up parts for the Crest. I will keep us an hour away from a village. You better get some rest, it will be a" You nod to his response. You sigh with content, knowing he probably wouldn't say much more.

It has been a few months since the Mandalorian hired you to watch his adoptive, green son while he took care of bounties. He made sure that he taught you the basics of hand-to-hand combat and how to handle a simple blaster. He also taught you how to get the Razor Crest into the air in case there was need for a quick getaway or if you needed to escape if things on a hunt go south. You deeply respected the Mandalorian and trusted him to keep you safe, and he respected you. He trusted you with Grogu, he trusted you with his ship and he trusted you with his real name. Despite his hard exterior, he was always soft with you.  No matter what job he was on, who he threw into carbon freeze... he always tried his best to be gentle towards you.

You weren't sure what to make of this relationship between the two of you. It felt like you both were tiptoeing around each other on glass, but you didn't want to overstep any boundaries.

-----

The fire crackled and popped as you ate dinner.

Like Din said; he landed the Razor Crest in an isolated area. The plan was to camp tonight and get supplies the next day. Rather than spend all of the night in the ship, you and Din decided to have dinner right outside the ship. You both figured it was best for the Kid to get some fresh air after a long journey.

You sat across from Din while Grogu sat next to his father, sipping away at some broth. You looked up to the night sky, the stars were so bright on this planet. Seeing them in space was one thing, but seeing them so bright from the ground made you smile.

"What's going on in that mind of yours?" You heard Din ask.

"I am just enjoying the beauty of the stars." You look back to him and although you can't see his face or his eyes, you have a feeling his is watching you. "Its silly since we see them all the time in space but I don't mind enjoying the little things."

"It's not silly at all. Although I will have to say..." He paused, clearing his throat. "The stars don't compare to you."

"Oh..." Your face flushed with warmth at the realization of his words.

"I am not sure if I overstepped-"

"No, you didn't, Din." You smile. "I really appreciate it, and I really appreciate you and everything you do for the kid and I. You're a great man."

"You've seen the things I've done-"

"You are much more than your job. " You felt an ounce of bravery and got up from your spot across from the Mandalorian and plopped yourself next to him. "I... really like you." You start to internally freak out from your sudden confession.

"I feel the same." His voice wavered but he carefully wrapped an arm around you. "I can't promise you a perfect life, but-"

"My life is already perfect with you and Grogu." You heard the little guy coo and watched him waddle over to you both. You gently grab him, shifting your leg against Dins, and allowing him to sit there. You lean against the cool beskar and wrap your free arm against Dins lower back. No other words were spoken as the three of you sat in peaceful bliss, looking to the bright stars above.
