the days flew by and they were halfway done with the second week of school. nothing interesting has happened since the gang learned about zach's rumored pregnant girl. most of the group believed it was true, but the other half either didn't believe it or couldn't care less.

in their first period class, savannah, rowyn, and zach learned they had their first english test coming up. none of them necessarily loved the subject or the teacher for that matter, but it wasn't like there was anything they could do about it.

at lunch seemed to be the same usual conversations and banter between the group. daniel, kesley, and rowyn still never really had a chance to talk to zach yet, let alone try to be friends. but then again, none of them planned to. gym was the only class corbyn and jonah had with jack and daniel, which was a win-win on all their parts.

coach johnson was their gym teacher this year, and he wasted no time bragging about the boys' varsity team to the other teachers holding a class. though today, they were in the weight room, just like how daniel and jack said they would be. the 4 took their spots while corbyn put in his airpods for music before he worked out.

zach was late to class, as usual, and took the bench next to jack. corbyn and daniel gave him a look, but jonah didn't mind. in fact, he even started conversation with him as class begun.

"so you're on the soccer team?"

zach nodded his head as he picked up the first weight, "yeah, i made it to varsity."

"ayy congrats." jonah told him as he did his own thing. "how's johnson? i heard he can be a pain in the ass sometimes."

"he's alright." the boy shrugged, starting his reps.

"yeah it's 'cause you're his favorite now." jack laughed, joining in on the conversation. "ever since the girls' scrimmage he's worshipped you."

"nah now you're just pushing it." feeling left out of the conversation, daniel and corbyn tried to make an effort. at the same time, all of them saw savannah and rowyn outside of the weight room handing over papers to coach johnson.

seeing the look on his face, jonah nodded his head over to the girls, "already got your eyes set on someone?" he laughed.

zach tried playing it cool and shook his head, "what? no, no. i just think the blonde's hot y'know?"

corbyn immediately turned his head to him with a subtle glare in his eyes. "that blonde is my cousin." zach looked at the seemingly threatening brunette and chuckled nervously.

"i mean i don't know about sav, but i guess you have a shot." he told him dryly.

"wow corbyn, i love the enthusiasm." jack snickered, "i think you have a shot with her, considering the way she acts around you." daniel's head shot over to the two as he listened in. he didn't like savannah that kind of way, but once upon a time he did. if they all thought about it, everyone in the group had a crush on each other at one point or another.

he didn't hear what zach had to say about what jack said, nor did he care. the period ended shortly and they were all heading home. except today, there was no practice since all the coaches had a meeting. savannah would be riding home with corbyn and jeanna, who was going to the besson's house after school.

the gang met up in the main courtyard of the school where rowyn, kesley, and savannah came from the main staircase. surprised to see zach with the boys, sav walked down quickly over to them to say hi.

"hey." she smiled, looking mostly at zach. jack nudged the boy's arm so that he'd respond instead of stare.

"hey," he finally responded, suddenly he had an idea in mind. "are you doing anything after school?" everyone else went to their own conversations, trying not to be too obvious that they were all trying to eavesdropping on the two.
