001 | the new kid

as the new school year approached, the students of parkside high filled the hallways as they entered campus for the first time this fall. it the first day of junior year for most of them with the exception of corbyn and jonah. for them, it was their last first day of school.

"i hate this, i wanna go back home." kesley complained, her head tiredly rested on jack's shoulder.

"kes first period hasn't even started yet." corbyn said with a laugh.

"i know and it's 7:20 this is too much." the girl whined while her friends laughed.

"i heard ms. blakely had a baby over the summer." rowyn mentioned. ms. blakely, who wasn't exactly the coolest, was their english teacher last year.

"yeah and she's no longer miss now," jack snickered, "i heard she's now mrs. kutwoski."

"bless you." daniel told the wavy haired boy, making the group laugh.

rowyn scanned the hallway for a familiar face, "hey where's sav?" she asked more so directly at corbyn than everyone.

the newly brunette shrugged, "i don't know, she wasn't home when i went to pick her up."

"maybe she took the bus." jonah suggested.

daniel nodded, "yeah probably." they all knew savannah wasn't one to be late. not to school, not to work- not to anything.

"well i gotta meet maya before 1st period so i'll catch you guys later, tell sav i said hi." jonah told the group as he walked away to go find his girlfriend.

"tell her i said hi!" kesley yelled before resting her head back on jack's shoulder, slowly falling back asleep.

daniel chuckled, "you know she's gonna have to wake up in a minute." he told jack.

the boy shrugged, "if i gotta carry her to class then so be it."

corbyn looked around anxiously in search for his seemingly tardy cousin. he himself had to go meet up with some of his other friends and his girlfriend, jeanna, before first period as well, but he promised his aunt and mom he'd see savannah first.

after a couple minutes, the blonde girl walked down the hallway over to where her friends waited for her.

"there you are!" rowyn smiled, giving her best friend a hug.

"yes i'm here, and no, i'm not late." savannah told the group.

corbyn held onto one of his backpack straps as it slung on his shoulder, "then where were you?"

"principal's." she said casually. all 5 friends looked at her with their eyes wide, even kesley who was now wide awake. "relax it's nothing bad."

"of course." daniel smirked.

"they wanted me to show this new kid around." the girl explained, "they're in my homeroom so i should meet them then."

rowyn nodded her head as she listened, "sounds fun, how long will you be touring?"

savannah shrugged, "i don't know, til' lunch?"
