I climbed out of bed with my hair a mess and my pajamas wrinkled. Today was move in day for college dorms. I looked to the side and saw my two suitcases packed and organized.
"I just want this semester to be over with already." I said letting out a slight sigh afterwards
I trudged to the bathroom and got myself ready for the day. I put on a nice outfit, something simple yet classy, to make a good impression for my new roommates this year.

The dorm roommates change every year to ensure that freshman are open to engaging with people of all of ages.
I toted my bags downstairs and set them near the entrance. I raced up the stairs to get the rest of my belongings that I would need for this year and headed back down making my way towards the kitchen.
"Noona," a voice said from behind me. It was my little brother "You're leaving already?" "No, not yet. I still have to eat and my friends are coming here to pick me up." I replied while throwing some bread in the toaster "Don't miss me too much while you're gone!" he exclaimed while giggling "I'll try not to! I'll check on you whenever I'm free."
11:57am
I grabbed a plate, butter knife and some butter from the fridge and scrolled through my socials while I waited for my toast to finish cooking.
In the midst of spreading butter on my toast, the doorbell rang and I saw the door swing open.
"HELLO OMG?!" Yerin screamed excitedly "As you can see we missed you a lot Jiwoo." my friend Soomin calmly stated "I can see. I just have to grab my toast and we can be on our way." "Okay, we'll put your bags in the trunk and then we can hit the road."
My friends carried my bags out the door. I grabbed my toast and chased the two out to the car while saying my goodbyes to my family.
I jumped in the backseat trying to relax. I always get the jitters on the first day, and I don't know why. I shook my head and stared out the window trying to focus my mind on the positive things.
1:22pm
We finally arrived at the campus and I was overwhelmed with nervousness. The yards were filled with high spirits and it brought my mood up. We went towards the girls' dormitory and checked our emails. None of us shared the same dorm unfortunately, but that does give me a better opportunity for me to branch out and meet new people. Although I don't associate with a lot of people, I am still friendly and somewhat outgoing.
We rolled our luggage to the elevator and pressed our respective floor numbers. We couldn't even be blessed enough to be on the same floor as each other :'(
We waved each other goodbye and went our separate ways.
Room 302 ~ 3:30pm
This is the moment I've anticipated since I woke up this morning. I didn't want to seem to distant and cold but I also didn't want to come off as a pushover either. It was just the matter of going with the flow, which is something I am NOT good at. I hesitantly opened the door and was immediately greeted by the people I now will be calling my roommates for another year of my life.
"Welcome to the dorm! I'm Rose and this is Lisa and Jisoo." my roommate explained "Nice to meet you guys, my name is Jiwoo. I am in my junior year here :)" "Really?! you look so young! I could've mistaken you for a high schooler. But we're all in our freshman year so we hope you can take care of us and guide us."
They all bowed and we sat down on our shared couch and chatted for a while. We got to know each other a little better and discussed some of our ground rules and bunking quarters. I will be bunking with Jisoo apparently. She seems nice, but I don't plan on getting too close to that many people this school year. I wanna take up an internship and rent out my own apartment! Well... at least that's my goal for this year. My friends don't want to live the apartment lifestyle, so I'll have to find a housemate unfortunately.
5:10pm
I was on my way back from getting my textbooks and needed things for the semester, when I got a text to go to Soomins' room. *sigh* I guess they wanted to be together one more time before our lives get hectic again.
I pressed the number 4 button on the elevator and made my way to the dorm of which my friend resides. Room 401. I knocked subtly on the door and waited for an answer.
"Well you took long enough," Yerin said "Hurry up! We want to drink before we go all serious mode tomorrow."
I sighed, knowing that they'll overdo their limits and get white girl wasted. I prepared myself to fake shots all night because I know I'm going to have to pose as a babysitter.
9:27pm
"C'mon guys, this is ridiculous. Curfew is at 10 and you guys can barely walk..." I stated visibly annoyed "Stop being a party pooper! We just wanted to enjoy ourselves!" Yerin wailed "You're definitely going to enjoy that hangover tomorrow morning. Let's go, I'm dropping you off to your dorm."
I stood up, nowhere near drunk, and hoisted Yerin over my shoulder. I don't know how much longer I can keep lifting her, she's starting to get heavy :')
9:40pm
I dropped her off and tucked her in bed. This isn't the first nor the last time I'll have to do this which is quite a shame. I headed back to my dorm and set my alarm for my classes tomorrow.
