Chapter 8 The Masquerade Ball

I took a shower and put on my purple silk robe. Before I even closed the door Vamp and Witch rush up to me "we're doing your hair and makeup last so your doing nothing until we're done". Witch looked at me for a moment and I nodded. I sat down on the bed at looked at the two doing each other's hair and makeup when they were done Vamp came and got me to sir at the vanity with torture devices for both my hair and face.

What seemed like forever which was only two hours I was told to open my eyes. A gasp escaped my lips while looking at my face in the mirror the little bit of blush eye liner and mascara made my eyes and cheek bones look magnificent. My hair was in a half up half down hairstyle with my curls stopped at my waist. "Now is time to get ready. None of us saw your dress so we went with the natural look. So let's get ready!". I took out three huge boxes from my closet and set them on the bed. I opened the smallest box to reveal a dark purple necklace a pair of earrings and a ring with a ruby in the middle. After I put them on I opened the larger box and took out purple zip-up heel boots and put them aside so I could put on the dress first. I opened the box and took out my dress it was violet with a heart shaped top and a x at the back. When I was finished I sat down on the bed to put on my shoes when I heard a knock a the door. "Can I come in?" I sighed in relief it was only Witch "yeah" her head popped out the door with her jaw opened "well fudge me my sis is looking hot!" I smirked "stop overreacting I've look better and you look very very fashionable. Where's your mask?" She was wearing a bright red mermaid dress that looked absolutely stunning and her mask was a dull red wine kinda color with a red rose on it. Vamp suddenly appeared in the bedroom in a turquoise strapped dress with a split in front showing out her right leg."You ready to go?" I asked while she was putting on her mask it was turquoise blue like the ocean. "Yeah I'm so ready for when Danny sees me in this he will definitely get a heart attack!" She said smiling and disappearing down the hall with Witch hot on her tail eager to see their mates. Speaking of I need to talk to mine but I still had some time touch up my makeup knowing my family they will make a late entrance which is around 8:45 and all the guests are here. I looked at the clock 9:00 I was late so I just put on some purple lipstick and gloves before putting on my violet mask and putting a purple flower in my hair. The dress was long leaving pool behind me so I held it while walking down the stairs making my way to the ballroom. When I got to the entrance the butler opened the door while I stepped in and closed the door behind me. All the attention turned to me as everyone stopped talking and gasped. "Well I thought that I was making a grand entrance but she beat me to it". I smiled "well its to see you to mother". I walked down the steps and nodded to the orchestra to continue playing. I made my way to my mother who was smiling at me. "where is grand Donny and his mate?" She pointed towards the dance floor where I saw my brother dancing with a woman who looked like she was in her early twenties but it was hard to tell with the mask she had on. I walked up to them "mind if I steal him for a minute?" She tensed and turned to look at me her blue eyes looked into my (contact lens) brown eyes. "Listen up bitch I don't who you are to my mate but keep your filthy hands off you slut!" Smack skin on skin contact that I knew all to well. Once again the music died down and everyone's attention was on me she slapped me in my face. I turned my head to see Witch and Jamie with her expressions on their faces they felt that while I felt nothing but anger. I laughed everyone knew what was going to happen next so they covered their ears or should've. I looked at Donny "she is your true mate?" I asked him through my mind. He nodded yes "well I guess that means that I can't kill this one than?" He shook his head no I look back at her I started walking towards her when strong arms grabbed my waist and covered my mouth. The music started playing again and the lights where dimmed even more. I heard everyone sigh saying that was close. "Jamie take me outside I need some fresh air". Before I could breathe we were outside in the garden I visibly relaxed so did Jamie. "So umm....you wanna tell me what the hell was gonna happen back there?" I sighed might ad well tell him and get this over with. "From birth my mother always told me I was different and I believed her then she had Donny and Witch and told us we were destined for greatness then one day she drooped us off at our great great grand mother that inside. She told us that she had to go away to keep us safe I honestly didn't care if she left me but I had my younger siblings to help with Witch was immediately attached to grand so she was off my hands to now.although we are triple5s i m the oldest cause I came out first but Witch looked more like me than Donny so people thought we were identical twins. When I first got my powers I was 12 and they followed soon after I started to feel the power that was around me I asked grand about it and she told me all about the prophecy I knew what she was talking about she told Mr it was my powers. So she separated us by putting us in the system by then I was 14 and a junior at the school where I met Vamp she is my friend/protected until I could completely control my powers within the year which isn't normal. But I have to earn you a lot of people will want to control my powers as their own so I....we have to be prepared. Oh and I was going to kill her but she was lucky that she was really my brother's mate or else she would be another one of brother's play things that I would gladly dispose of for him". I looked at Jamie and sighed I knew it was a lot to in. He smiled at me showing his white teeth perfectly "I accept you as a mate" I was utterly surprised as he pressed his lips against mine as he pushed me against me wall we were walking all. My hands found their way around his neck tangling themselves in his hair as I pulled him impossibly closer. His tongue pressed against mine asking for entrance and I gladly give it to him and the kiss deepened I was feeling so much pleasure that I wanted to mark him right there and this was not the time or place. I pulled away and he groaned to kiss me "not the time or place" that was all needed to say "we have to go back back inside". I allowed him to carry me back to the ballroom. I already touched up my makeup and made Jamie look more presentable as we stepped inside with hands interlock. I walked back up to my brother mother and the others before I was confronted by July (my brothers mate) "look I'm really sorry about that thing that happened earlier" with a smile on her face but I could tell that she knew who I was and wanted to test the theory then it clicked."well aren't you a sneaky little witch!" I laughed witch's don't have mates only the half breeds but she wasn't one so she just casted a spell to get to me.
