CHAPTER 3
I look behind my shoulders to see Mr. Wilson looking at me expectantly. I sigh and turn to face him completely.
"Yes?"
"About earlier.."
"What about a earlier?" I looked at him blankly.
"Uh, I, ah.."
"Yes, Mr. Wilson?"
He sighed exasperatedly and looked annoyed at himself. I raise an eyebrow at him.
"Nothing, never mind."
"So, may I go now?" I asked after a moment of silence.
"Of course."
And so I did I went to my locker to drop my things and headed out. But before I could go out, I heard my name being called. It was Matthew. I look behind to see him walking to me. I smile at him.
"Hi, Matt."
"Natallie," He nods, "By the way, I want you to meet someone."
Only then did I realize that someone was standing behind him. Someone who was jumping like crazy. She had a broad grin on her face. She pushed Matt out of the way and stood in front of me.
"Hi, Natallie," She greeted excitedly, but before I could greet back, she started talking, blabbering, I mean, "I'm Summer! How did you meet Matt? Why haven't I seen you this morning? Surely I'd see someone as adorable as you. Where's your locker located? I hope it's near mine. Where do you live? Want me to drop you off? So, do you want to have a girl time with me and talk about stupid guys? Wait, do you have a boyfriend? How are you?"
"Uh.." I was stunned. She said all those in one breath. And fast.
"Summer, you just met and you're already attacking her. Do you really want to scare her off that badly?" Matthew threw Summer a look of disbelief.
"I was not scaring her!" She defended.
Summer was wearing a white tank top that said, 'Bite Me' in big, red letters, a skin tight black skinny jeans and some high heels shoes. Her clothes hugged her curvy form. Simple clothes and she already could pull it off. And the guys around her aren't so subtle in checking her out, too. Have they no shame at all?
"Right, Nat?" My train of thoughts were cut off by Summer, who looked expectantly at me. I shook my head to clear my thoughts.
"Wha- Huh? What? What?" I looked at her confusedly. What'd she say? She looked at me amusedly.
"You're funny. But I was just proving this stupid bag over here that you're not scared of me. Right?" She looked confident. Her chin was raised high and she was glaring at Matthew. I thought of what she said and smiled.
"No, I'm not scared of you. Why would I be?"
"Heard that, D bag? She ain't scared of me," She threw Mattew a smug look, her finger pointing at him victoriously. I smiled involuntarily at her actions.
"So, Nat, how'd you meet Matthew?" She asks me. I smile at the nickname and tell her how Matthew and I met. She scoffs.
"Only Matthew can manage to do that," She turns her gaze to the scowling Mattew, "Seriously, Matt. I just told you where the office was located before I left."
"You can't really blame me," He mutters. And to prove his unknown point, he stares at a passing cute guy and licks his lower lip.
Summer rolls her eyes.
