Dream stared in shock at the kings words. Married. Him? with a prince?! It's not like prince Technoblade wasn't appealing, it's actually quite the opposite. But he expected a large sum of gold or something like that. So when he turned to his friends flabbergasted expression, he knew what he had to do. "sounds great! though I didn't realise the prince was the prize," Techno, George and Sapnap all stared at him a horror. "Wait, hold on, there's no way Dream's getting married before us, let alone to a stuck up prince!" Techno rolled his eyes as Sapnap elbowed George hard in his side. George groaned, rubbing his hip while glaring up at his friend.

"Father, please reconsider-" Techno tried, but the king quickly shut him down, "this isn't your choice to make Techno." Dream's eyes widened at that, watching the rage hidden behind the princes eyes grow. "Do I not even get a say in this?!" Techno argued. "No, I told you how this would work, only Dream can decide if the marriage happens or not, now stop interrupting!" The king growled, turning back to Dream with a smile. "So you'd like to marry my son?" Dream hesitated at that, sure, the prince was pretty as fuck and he'd definitely want to marry him. But Techno himself seemed stressed, too bad he'd gain a lot from a deal like this. "Yeah...sure," he immediately regretted his words as the life seemed to grain from Techno's face. The prince turned to his father, about to protest. "then it's done! you shall marry my son and join him on the throne, the actual marriage will be planned for at least a month from now. Now head up to Techno's room and get to know each other, your friends can explore the castle and meet the staff," the king clapped his hands together. He leaned over and whispered something to Techno, before walking out of the room.

"For fucks sake," the prince growled, gesturing for Dream to follow him. Techno kept a blank expression as they walked down the halls of the castle. "Look, I'm sorry, but I'd like to support my friends and family, I didn't know I'd end up marrying you," Dream frowned under his mask as Techno ignored him. "Hey-" Techno stopped in front of a large dark oak door with a golden handle. He opened the doors to a beautifully furnished room.

The walls were a light peachy pink, the floors being a polished blackstone. The large dark oak bed was planted in the middle, fairy lights hung from the overhead cover and the sheets were a dark red and black. There were flowers hanging from the walls and a glass door that led to a balcony. overlooking the forest behind the castle. It was beautiful, much more beautiful than any room he'd seen before. Dream turned to the pink haired prince, watching him pace in front of the bed. "Hey Techno..." Dream tried, stepping closer to the prince, who ignored him. "Technoblade," Dream tried again, standing only inches away from the stressed male. "Techno, look at me!" Dream growled, grabbing Techno's shoulders to keep him in place. "What!?" he snapped, glaring up at his fiancé. Dream frowned, "Look, I feel sorry for you, really I do... But I don't regret my choice, I need the money for my friends to live a comfortable life, and apparently I have to marry you to get that money-" as soon as Dream had caught a glance of Techno's expression, his blood bubbled with guilt.

Techno's POV

Techno was frozen in place, referred to once again as if he were an object. Something people could get free money from. His life and future, all of his hopes had been crushed like it was nothing but a bug under Dream's shoe. He was once again reminded that no, he didn't get to choose how he lived his life. So he promised to himself at that very moment that he wouldn't fight back, that he wouldn't do anything that people didn't want him to, he would simply follow the wishes of his father and fiancé, because he was only a trophy to be earnt, a prize to be collected, admired until his worth runs out.

Techno's face had fallen into a flat gaze, devoid of any positive emotion as he took a step away from Dream. he turned to the bookshelf, pulling out one book in particular, pressing a hidden button behind it. a part of the wall had opened to reveal Techno's special room. Where he kept his personal belongings that actually meant something to him and a small area he could train his fighting ability. Without looking back at the confused Dream, he stepped through the secret opening, closing the wall behind him. Leaving Dream alone with his thoughts.
