Chapter 11: Refusal

Kailey’s POV

I looked up at him in disbelief.

“Nate I-I need you to leave for a little bit please” I mumbled

He didn’t say anything he just walked out leaving me with Kayden. I knew he was pissed at me for telling him to leave, but I was pissed at him for pulling me out.

“You can leave if you want” I said to Kayden

“You don’t need to be alone right now” he said

I nodded, scooted over, and patted the bed next to be. He smiled and hopped on the bed. I put my head on his chest while he wrapped his arm around me.

“Why did you do it?” he finally asked

“I wanted to leave” I mumbled

“Then let’s leave you, Nate, and me. Let’s leave the state maybe even the country” he said

“Really?” I asked

“Yah” he said

“Do you think I’m a whore?” I asked a tear falling from my eye

“No why would you ask me that?” he almost shrieked

“Because of how Nate and I are with each other, or because my dad said I was” I stated

“Is that why you didn’t want to come up out of the water?”

That did it, my tears started falling all over him shirt.

“Baby girl don’t cry, please don’t cry” he coed

“C-c-can you go-o-o get N-nate?” I asked

“Sure thing” he said moving out from under me and went and got Nate.

It didn’t even take Nate a minute to come into the room and take Kayden’s spot on the bed next to me. I instantly curled up next to him as if it was a natural instinct.

“You have no idea how I felt when I saw your body float up to the surface” he mumbled in my hair

I didn’t say anything I just wrapped my arms around him.

“I think I literally almost shit my heart out” he said in the most serious tone

I couldn’t help but let a giggle slip out.

“I’m glad I can still make you laugh even when you’re like this”
