Chapter 1

Delirious' POV:

"And he shoots," I said as I tossed a paper ball towards the trash can in my office.

"And he misses," I said as the paper ball landed on the floor along with several other balls that I may or may not have thrown.

I sighed slouching back on my seat. It's been another slow day at work which makes me realize why I even bother to come today. As a detective you think I would always have something going on but no. It's just the same old day just like anywhere else. I mean I work in Charlotte North Carolina; it's probably one of the least crime ridden state in the US.

But I wouldn't give up living here for a more rowdy state. I do enjoy the peace and quiet this city gets at times. The lights flickered on and I put my hand over my eyes. It was completely dark before and the only light source was my computer. Now that the lights are on I regret having them off in the first place.

"You look busy working," a voice said annoyed and I just smiled up.

Said voice belonged to my good friend Wildcat. He's another detective like me and we're usually on cases together. Of course

Chapter 1 2nd version

It was nice and peaceful at the North Carolina Police Department. There wasn't much going around in the city of Charolette which made the officer jobs easier. Well it should have been easier but it was completely hell for one detective. That detective was Detective Jonathan Denis, or more importantly his nickname Delirious. He was currently in his office looking over a sheet of paper with things written on them.

Delirious groaned crumpling up the paper and tossing it towards the basket that had similar paper balls around it. Delirious placed his head on the desk cursing the city for not having any crimes going on. His office was dark with only the computer as his light source. He heard the door knock but didn't even bother looking up to see who it was. He already could tell who it was gonna be.

"Why is it so dark in here," a voice snapped at him as the lights were turned on.

"Tylerrrr please I like the darkness," Jonathan said getting a chuckle from the man.

Detective Tyler Wine, or more known as Wildcat, is a good friend of Jonathan.

"Do you have the report for me," Tyler asked.

"Do you need it now," Jonathan asked making Tyler groan.

"Yes god damn it Delirious we go through this every time. I don't want to get in trouble with Sark because of you," Tyler said making Jonathan flinch.

"Alright alright I'm on it Wildcat," Jonathan said.

"I need it by the end of the day got it," Tyler said and Jonathan nodded.

Tyler left the room and Jonathan let a sigh of relief. He looked back to his computer and then the notes he had placed all over his desk. God damn he wished he was a bit more organized. He was just tempted to walk out of the office but he knew he would get an earful from Sark and Tyler.

"Seems like you have everything under control," another voice said making Jonathan smile.

"Cartoonz I'm so glad you're here," Jonathan said.

Detective Luke Patterson, or more formally known as Cartoonz around the office, is Jonathan's best friend. A true brother even if they're not related.

"What do you want Del," Luke said as Jonathan motioned him to come.

"Help me organize my desk pleaaaase," Jonathan whined.

"Alright alright let me see what I can do," Luke said.

"Thank you so much," Jonathan said when Luke was finished.

"Yeah yeah do you have anything planned after work," Luke said as Jonathan Tyler away.

"Oh fuck I promised Allison that I was going to meet her for a double date with her friend," Jonathan groaned out.

"Alright alright since you obviously need my help. I'll finish your report. It looks almost finished," Luke said as he moved Jonathan out of the chair.

"You're the fucking best," Jonathan said hugging him.

"Yeah yeah get out of here," Luke said typing away.

Jonathan grabbed his coat and phone and left the office. He waved bye to his friends and got in his car. His phone rang and he answered it.

"Hey Allie," Jonathan said.

"Hey Jon are you still at work," she asked.

"I just got out I'm deciding not to go home and change. I can only assume you're at the restaurant," Jonathan said.

"Yeah and it's better if you came in your uniform," she said making Jonathan laugh.

"Alright I'll be right there," Jonathan said.

The phone call ended and he arrived at the restaurant. He walked to the entrance and asked for the table. The waiter motioned towards the three people in the booth and he went over there.

"Hey Allie," Jonathan said kissing her on the cheek.

"Hey Jonathan; this is my friend Sydney and her boyfriend Evan. Guys this is my boyfriend Jonathan," Allison said.

"It's nice to meet the both of you," Jonathan said shaking their hands.

Dinner was nice and quiet to Jonathan's liking. He really doesn't like to meet new people already close with the officers he had made on the force.

"Hey Evan I'm going to use the bathroom," Sydney said.

"Let me join you," Allison replied and they had left.

"Sooo you're an officer," Evan asked.

"No I'm Detective Delirious," Jonathan said.

"What kind of name is Delirious," Evan asked.

"Well my friends tell me I have an insane laugh so they called me Delirious and I like it," Jonathan said.

"Hmmmmm I'd like to hear that laugh," Evan said.

"We're at a restaurant I'm not going to laugh," Jonathan said.

Jonathan watched Evan slide out of his booth and into his own.

"What the fuck are you HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA," Jonathan said before bursting out laughing when Evan startled to tickle him.

"You're insane," Jonathan said through breathes when Evan had stopped.

"You're right your laugh is delirious," Evan said as he made his way back over.

"Fuck you," Jonathan said and the girls came back.

Jonathan paid for bill just wanting to leave the
