On Stevie's eighth birthday, she was gifted her first ever skateboard.

Due to her father and brothers close relationship, they were always together. Whether it was karate, playing catch, or watching some random boxing movie, they were always together. So, that left her to take care of the house with her mother. She'd help her clean, wash the dishes, do laundry, and her mom even taught her how to cook. Her life was a constant repetition of the same activities. She always yearned for that sense of freedom, the freedom that her brother and father had. Her mother could tell.

Morganna Aldaine wanted the best for her daughter so that's why she bought her a skateboard. She felt it would get her out of the house more, and it could become her thing like how karate was Stevie's brother and fathers and it did. It warmed her heart to see her little girl running out the apartment door, skateboard in hand, and yelling out to he that she was going to the skate park for a few hours. She was happy. Her daughter was finally finding the happiness that she had always been missing in her life.

Just as much as karate did, skateboarding brought her peace. Especially her hair blowing through the air as she rode her board down the side walk heading to school. It was the exact thing she needed this morning after dealing with her brother. She rolled her eyes from just thinking about him and how he was acting this morning.

Her and Julian never really fought a lot, just a spew between each other once in a while and right now was one of those uncommon times.

You see, sometimes Julian liked to put up a front.

Around his friends, he liked to pretend to be someone else. Unlike Stevie, Julian was a pro at pretending to be someone he was not. To his friends, Julian was the kind of person to give zero fucks about the rules. They saw him as a leader. With them, he'd make fun of the kids his friends would just so he could fit in. It wasn't a good trait to have, but when he was around his friends, it was like there was a monster inside him pushing him to be the worst version of himself.
