Chapter 9

5 Years Later....

Alex dodged the green fist flying that was flying at her, moving out of J'onn's range so she could watch him move. She makes sure that she is light on her feet, glad she's used to keeping up with Kara when she sees him coming towards her with superspeed. She blocks it and despite the fact J'onn always holds his strength back, the impact still makes her grit her teeth. Alex sweeps her leg, making J'onn fall . Her smirk of satisfaction quickly falls when she sees him stop himself by floating an inch above the ground and righting himself in the air before his feet touch the ground.

"J'onn you're cheating!" She grumbles.

He just smiles proudly at her, loving the grand look that Alex gives him. The two of them look up when they hear a collection of footsteps getting closer to them. The first person that Alex sees is her sister walking towards the pair. "Kara, what's wrong?" Alex asks, seeing how nervous her sister is. She drops her sword and quickly walks over to her sister and holds her hands, waiting for Kara to speak.

"Mom wants us to join her for dinner, she says that there is a special guest here." Kara mutters while nervously playing with her glasses. Alex groans in frustration, knowing what her mother expects from her. "Does mom really want us to dress nicely?" Alex asked while walking away from Kara to go clean her swords and armor. Kara followed behind her, "Yes she does. She always wants us to dress nicely for guests.." Kara explains while fidgeting with her glasses.

During the last five years, The Danvers Kingdom grew larger. More aliens joined the DEO. Kara became more comfortable with herself. Her sister, along with the help from Hida, have tested Kara's powers. Of course Kara and Hida always argue about who is stronger between the two of them. During some nights, Hida would teach Kara how to control her super hearing and super strength. While the two of them were doing that, Alex would be locked in her lab, creating inventions that could help her sister. The only person that could make Alex leave her nest would be Hida. One day while she was in her lab, she created LEAD glasses that helped control Kara's heat vision and x-ray powers.

Hida and Alex's relationship grew stronger throughout the years. When Alex was 20, she came out to her family as gay. Alex was really nervous about telling Hida, wondering if she would accept her. Alex then found out that her crush was also gay, which helped increase her chances of asking her out one day. The two of them would hang out so much that people started speculating that they were dating, even though they denied so many times.

Alex ignores her sister's antics and quickly gathers her stuff and heads back inside with Kara following behind her. The two sisters make their way back to their rooms. "Did mom not want me to know who the special guest is? So she asked you not to say anything?" Alex asks, playfully pushing her sister. Kara smirks at her sister's antics and pushes her back, but lightly. "No, I don't know who the guest is. But mom said that it's someone that has a special place in our hearts." Kara explains. Alex eyes shoot open as she stops in her tracks and grabs Kara's arm.

"Alex? You ok?" Kara asks. She notices that Alex's cheeks turn bright red. She gasps and smirks, getting a slap on the arm from her sister. "You really think it's her?"

"I don't know. I would love for it to be her. The last time we saw her was a few months ago. I wish she could stop searching and just settle down with us. I didn't think she would want to see us again. Especially me." Alex explains while walking into her room to find something to wear. "Of course she wants to see you again. She likes you. Like, really like you." Kara says while helping her sister. Alex stops in her tracks and turns to give her sister that look that Kara smirks towards. Kara walks over to her sister's closet and pulls out a pair of pants and a shirt. "You should wear this." Kara says. Alex grabs what Kara was holding and walks into the bathroom. While Alex was changing, Kara sped over to her room and changed into a pair of black ripped jeans with a red and white plaid shirt; completing the look with brown Kodiak boots. When she walks back into Alex's room, her sister still wasn't out of the bathroom. "Come on Alex, we don't want to keep this guest waiting. We don't even know if it's who you're thinking of." Kara explained while sitting on her sister's bed.
