A Fight For True Love

Chapter 14

Once Hida and Alex made it out of the castle, they held each others hands all the way to Noonan's.  When they arrived, Hida knocked on the door and waited for the slot to open.  A pair of dark blue eyes peeked through the slot.  "What's the password?" 

"Dollywood."  Hida says confidently.  The slot closes and the door swings open and the two of them walk down the stairs to where the bar is located.  At the other end was a small stage with a musician on the side.  He was playing slow, soft music that echoed throughout the bar.  The place was packed full of both aliens and citizens. 

"I'm gonna go get us some drinks.  Why don't you go find us a seat and I'll meet you over there."  Hida said.  Alex nods and watches Hida head to the bar and talk to one of the aliens that works behind the bar. 

Alex looks back and scans the room, looking for somewhere to sit.  She soon found a booth close to the stage but not close enough for anyone to recognize her.  She sat down and kept an eye on the bar.  Some people looked up from where they were seated or where they were playing pool and eyed Alex.  They knew that Alex was the best knight in the Kingdom and also the oldest daughter of the Queen.  Alex keeps an eye on them and notices one of the guys coming towards her.  She tries her best not to punch the man in the throat; but instead lifts her shirt up and shows the guy her gun.  He groans and walks back to his seat. 

Hida came back to the booth empty handed.  Alex looked at Hida with a confused look, "Where's our drinks?"  Alex asks. 

"The bartender will bring them over soon.  She's dealing with an alien that keeps trying to get in her pants."  Hida explains.  Alex looks over and sees a smirking man, the same one that got close to her earlier, leaning against the bar.  Judging by the bartender's unimpressed and faintly disgusted expression, his advances aren't welcome. 

She looks back at Hida, who was staring at her with a smirk.  "What?"  Hida sat back and shook her head.  "Nothing, I just know what you're thinking of doing."

"I don't know what you're talking about."  Alex teased.  "Yeah ok." She leaned closer into Alex and pointed towards the man at the bar.  "The best place to aim for is the back of the head.  That'll show him not to flirt with anyone here."  She moved back and ate a few nuts that were on the table.  Alex knew that if Kara were here, she would call this stupid and rash, so she looks the man over.  There are no bulges, no hints that he is carrying a weapon.  Though he is an alien, meaning that he could have powers.  But Alex doesn't worry because she has her gun and dagger with her as well as Hida by her side in case this goes sideways.

Alex smirked and poured out the rest of the nuts into Hida's hands.  She aimed towards the man and threw it as hard as she could, which arched perfectly in the air until it hit him in the back of the head. 

His head snaps up and turns toward where Alex and Hida were sitting.  Hida looks over at him and gives him a death glare that could kill anyone if they only looked at her; almost like medusa.  That doesn't stop him from getting up from his seat and coiling his fists into a ball.  M'gann leaps over the bar and murmurs something obviously threatening to him, her eyes flashed red for a few seconds before turning to normal.  He grumbled to himself and got up to leave.  He peered back over to Alex and gave her another glare before he walked out. 

"Very good."  Hida said, sounding impressed. 

"I'm just lucky that Kara isn't here.  She would have given me a whole lecture of how dangerous that was and other shit."  Alex pointed out while eating a few nuts. 

"You're lucky he didn't come and kill you."  M'gann said as she approached the table, placing the drinks in front of them.  "I had that handled." 

"I know, but I wanted to teach that bastard a lesson.  Besides, if he did try to hurt me, I have this one here to protect me."  Alex pointed out while holding Hida's hand.  Hida smiled towards M'gann who was giving her a confused look.  "Why are you looking at me like that?"  Hida asked.
