Nick 's POV
My mother is nuts.
I love her, but sometimes it seems like she has lost a bolt in her head.
Today, for example, she made me carry all the boxes and luggage to grandma's house. Then she said to bring some boxes to the attic. I did that, but then she was all like
"Bring those boxes back, I mistook them for the ones I have here."
Apparently I rolled my eyes at her cause next thing you know, BAM!
I got hit on shoulder with a rag. It hurt for a bit, but I didn't care. I deserved it cause I rolled my eyes at her.
"Mom, can I just go and unpack my stuff. I'm really tired" I told her.
"Fine, but tomorrow you have to clean the attic and store the boxes that are left here. Understood?" my mom said.
"Yes, mother" I said to her while rolling my eyes.
I literally got to the room that my grandma gave me, and I just locked the room. I'm one of those people who is very social. Like, I love meeting people, but I always appear timid. I'm more of a listener than a talker. When I do talk, is either to defend myself and others, and give out advice. I usually get my wisdom from my grandfather. He will always tell me to be wise and be two steps ahead than anybody else.
I got my clothes out of luggage and boxes, and then headed to the shower because it was a long day. All of sudden I heard a knock at the door and my mother opened it.
"Hello, welcome to Burlington Community. We're the Acosta family. Here's a welcome gift that my lovely daughter made" it sounded like a woman.
"Hello! Aww thanks for the gift. You shouldn't bothered. Come on in. Sorry for the mess, we just started unpacking... NICK! Come down this instance and introduce yourself" my mother said to me.
When I walked down, I saw the same girl that was sitting on her front porch.
She is beautiful.
"Hel... Helllo" my voice cracked a little which made me turn red a little.
The girl giggled a little. It was the most cutest giggled I ever heard.
"Hi, my name is Nick" I extended my arm for them to shake. It was a bit awkward, but at least it made me look mature.
"Hello Nick, I'm Jessica Acosta, but you can call me Jess."
She had the most sweetest, smoothest, softest voice I've ever heard. It sounded so angelic.
"Hello, We are Ms. and Mrs. Acosta, but you can just call us Martin and Martha."
I shook their hand and smiled at them politely, at least that's what I thought I did because I felt like my face felt like it was being stretched from the outer corners of my lips. I definitely knew the reason for it. The reason was her. She was the reason why I felt my face hot and my smile that's stretched from ear to ear.
Since the first glance, I knew I had to meet this girl, even though I denied it to my mom.
"You guys want a drink or something. Once again, excuse me for the mess" my mom said.
