(Scarlets POV)

Walking through the corridors after class all I hear is loud obnoxious yelling (mostly Gryffindors). I fail to see anyone but Draco. He swiftly walks through the halls rolling his eyes at everyone who looks at him.

"Draco!" I put my hand up to wave so he can see where I am.

Draco pushes through everyone to get to me, most people move out of the way seeing it's Draco, but eventually he gets to me.

"Scarlet, Hey." I hear with a tad bit of happiness in his voice.

A small smile shows on my face but I quickly suppress it and turn back to my regular cold face. It's a free period, So Draco and I wait until there is a silence to talk and no one around to hear.

"One week at this pathetic school and all I know about the infamous Harry Potter is that his only friends are a group of gingers and a stuck up know it all" My face getting redder from anger by the second.

"Be lucky you're only going to be dealing with this for two years, and anyways you better start saying nice things about the family of disgrace and the mud-blood" the softness in his voice left as disgust rooted it's way in.

Draco is right though, They aren't going to trust me if they hear what I really have to say about them. For once I need to put my pride aside. I just have to remember it'll help in the long run. The faster I gain their trust the faster everything can be over with.

" You have potions with him next, I mean you have all classes with him, but ask him for help and have a study session anything to spark a 'friendship' with him" Draco can barley spit out the word friendship.

"Draco darling,  potions happens to be my best class I'm not going to ask scar-head for help" I scoff offended as ever.

"Just do it, do whatever it takes." Draco's last words as he gets up to go to his next class. Draco looks around to make sure no one is looking and pulls me into a tight hug.

"Have fun is potions love, see you later." Draco softened his voice. Light and fluffy almost like clouds. He smiled gracefully and turned to go to his next class.

Whatever it takes. Those words ring in my ear relentlessly. Not because Draco said them but because those where the last words he-who-shall-not-be-named said to me, My father. The same man who thinks it's funny to ruin his children's life.

Per usual I arrive early to class, no one to be seen.

I'm so glad Slughorn doesn't teach here anymore, I can't imagine how disastrous that would be. After all the the stories that were told I'm perfectly fine with Snape. The only 'real' father figure in my life, but I say that lightly. Snape took us in when my father decided we weren't priority. He helped us when our father was using us as pawns, just like he is now.

I hear a warm mischievous laugh coming from outside of the classroom. I turn to see two fiery redheads, identical twins but I can tell them apart. A shaggy brown haired boy tells them to shove off. He turns to walk into the room, I quickly turn my head realizing I was staring.

That's the closest I've been to those two redheaded twins. Somehow the closer they got the more I noticed and wondered.

Harry sat down next to me and pulled out his books and homework.

"It looks like it's just the two of us, I noticed we have all the same classes together. Quite brilliant really." He says waiting to see how I react.

"Curious little world it is, would be better off without you anyways." I say as I look up from my book smirking at him.

"So you and Malfoy? Perfect fit, you two might as well be the same person." He lets out a little chuckle.

"Please we're just friends, that's all it will ever be." I scoff at him.

" 'Have fun in potions love, see you later' I just turned the corner with the twins and all I hear is that. Does Malfoy even know what love means?"

"That's just how we are it means nothing, besides pretty sure he has a thing with Pansy Parkinson."

Harry and I laugh as he nudges my elbow.

"For someone mean you have a pretty laugh Riddle."

"Have fun trying to get me to laugh, it's really not my favorite thing."

Truth is laughing is my favorite thing, I almost never laugh. I was taught it was a sign of weakness. Draco and Blaise Zabini are the only ones who have really seen me laugh. The only two who have seen the real me. The one that finds joy in reading, writing, and pranking. But I'm stuck destined to be by my fathers side.

"I'm sure Fred and George could get you to laugh, you should see the pranks they do."

"Yeah I'm sure of it." I say as I roll my eyes.

"I'm hanging out with a few people after classes today, you should come and meet them. I'll make it my personal mission to make you laugh."

" Headlines across the world "The chosen one tries to make a riddle laugh"  Our eyes meet, I smirk and roll my eyes at him as he lets out a small laugh.

"I'll try my best, So you coming or what?"

"Uh, yeah sounds good. Who exactly will be there?"

"It's going to be Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Lee Jordan, you now and me. We are going to meet up in the courtyard."

Song: Therefore I am by Billie Eillish

Thank you all so much for your patience I'm trying to get out chapters more frequently.

IMPORTANT: yes I did use 'us' and 'children' while talking about Voldemort and Snape. Scarlet may or may not have a sibling, I don't know ;)

I hope you enjoyed this chapter it's kinda bland but don't forget to vote and comment! <3
