After the phone call, she shook herself off and continued on with the conversations. All of her friends were worried about her but they didn't want to push her. Todoroki knew the facial expressions and the tone she had, so he had an idea of what was going on but he didn't ask any further questions. Tenya intended to ask her about it in private later on in the day. She continued to play with Bakugo's hair, he enjoyed it yes, but he was still curious about the phone call. Once she finished the rest of the laundry everyone that was in the basement went back to their own rooms. Nora grabbed her phone and walked up the steps, Tenya followed behind her, wanting to know more about what happened. Nora knew that he was following her, and she knew that he was going to ask about it. Once Nora got to the top of the stairs she turned and waited for Tenya to meet her.

"Can I ask about the phone call?" He asked her.

"Follow me." She said and then led him to her room so they could talk in private. She opened the door for him and he walked inside. She turned on the light and closed the door behind her. "Sit down. This might take a while." She said as she say down in her desk chair. He sat down on her bed and waited for her to start speaking. "Me and my father don't have the best relationship. He was never really there for me. He was off on patrol or in meetings, he was always working, he never had the time for me. When I was young, my mother would watch after me, I never really got to leave the house much though. My mom was amazing, I loved her a lot. She would always bake cookies with me or let me help her in the garden. That's when I first found out about my quirk." Nora started.

"What happened to your mom?" Tenya asked, noticing that Nora used past tense.

"She... she left. She left once my father realized that my quirk was more than just being able to move dirt. When he realized that my quirk was more powerful than anticipated, he wanted to take me to the doctors and run quite a few tests. My mother never liked that idea, she said I was too young and that it wouldn't be good for me. When my mother realized that my father was going to have it his way no matter what happened, she left. My father ended up doing the tests, it turned out that my quirk was a mutation of my ancestors quirks, which happened sometimes. After the tests, he would work me to the bone, literally. There was multiple times when I was in the hospital because of my injuries. He would train me as much as he could. I never had time to socialize like the other kids. My only friends were the many bodyguards that were around the house." Nora continued.

"That's terrible. Why would he do that?" Tenya asked, truly concerned.

"I still ask that question everyday. Anyway, in my later years, lets about 10 and up, the abuse because that's what it is, got much worse. As I grew up, the pressure got extremely worse. He would drill into my head that I needed to be the best so I tried my hardest to appease him but no matter what I did, it was never enough. I worked myself so hard to make him proud and I forgot about anything else. I would lock myself in my room for weeks on end trying to study and be on the top of my classes. I trained every moment I could and I followed every order given to me. I worked myself into a depression too many times to count and every single time I always seemed to fall short on his expectations. I followed his every demand for years. All the while he verbally, mentally, and emotionally abused me. In order to cope with it all I learned Japanese, and I studied the culture. I surrounded myself with it all in a hope to escape my reality. I'm going to be honest, when I found out that UA had a spot open for the hero course I applied immediately. It was like the light at the end of the tunnel. It was the fix to my problems. When I got excepted I was beyond ecstatic." Nora said with a sad smile as tears started to form in her eyes. "UA has helped me so much. I've found friends, I'm happy for the first time in forever and I'm surrounded by people who care. I know this sounds cheesy but I'm so grateful to be here." Nora finished as the tears fell down her face. She didn't bother to wipe them away, since she was actually crying, they would just keep coming. Tenya looked at her with sad eyes.

"I had no idea." He said, clearly upset.

"I didn't want people to take pity on me. I didn't want to have an advantage. I didn't want people to know my story and give me a free pass. I wanted to work for my spot here just like everyone else. You didn't know because I didn't want you to know. And I'd like to keep it that way with the rest of the class. So please don't say anything." She said to him, worry coming onto her face.

"I won't tell them. It just upsets me to see how you've been treated. But then I see just how strong you are, and I'm glad that you've chosen to have me in your life." Tenya said from his seat on the bed. Nora sniffled and looked at him.

"Don't say that. You're gonna make me cry even more." She said with a small laugh.

"I'm proud of you. And I'm proud of how far you've made it." He said to her while standing up. The tears fell faster and she sniffled some more. She stood up and walked over to him. He opened his arms and she fell into them, crying, because she's never heard those words being said to her before. She clinged onto his shirt and he hugged her life a big brother would hug his sister. Like Tenya's brother used to hug him.

"Really?" She asked, trying to make sure she heard right.

"Yes. I'm really proud of you Nora." He said to her. She held on tighter and buried her face in his chest. They stood there like that for a little while, as she cried for the first time in ages. Tenya stood there, comforting her the best way he could. When she pulled away she saw that she left tear stains on his shirt.

"Oh shit, I messed up your shirt. I'm sorry." She said to him.

"Don't worry about it. I'll wash it later." He said to her. She nodded at him but didn't say anything.

"Thank you for being here for me. Thank you for being my friend and putting up with me. You've been a life saver ever since I got here. I really appreciate it." Nora said to him.

"You're welcome, but you don't have to thank me. It's what friends do. I'm sure you'd do the same for me." He said with a nod. Nora chuckled and nodded at him. Nora collected herself and checked the time.

"It's almost curfew, you should get to your room before you get in trouble. But thank you for letting me vent. I needed that." Nora said to her friend.

"Oh you're right. It is almost curfew. But it's nothing really. I'm always here if you need to talk to someone. Don't forget that." He said before walking to the door.

"I won't. Goodnight Iida." Nora said.

"Goodnight Nora." Iida said back to her. He walked out of the room, and headed to his own. Nora looked in the mirror and saw her red puffy face. She sighed and started to get ready for bed. Before she went to sleep, she set her alarm and texted goodnight to her new boyfriend.
