“Hi Kaylie.” Jenna displayed the sweetest smile Kaylie had ever seen. She had forgotten how gorgeous she really is. Her beauty was like a slap on her face. “Can I come in?”
Kaylie struggled with her words, “Oh yes…where’s my manners? Come in…” She opened the door wider to usher Jenna in. “Please have a seat.”
“Thank you,” Jenna said as she sat on couch in the living room. “It’s been so long since I last saw you. Your house is just how I remembered it. Looks like not much has changed.” Her countenance changed, there was no more smile painted on her lips. She was solemn as she said, “I mean except James, of course.”
“Um, do you want something to drink?”
“No, Kaylie I won’t stay long. Sit down…please…” But it didn’t sound like a request.
Kaylie half-smiled and sat opposite Jenna.
“I spoke to James, but you do know that.” Jenna said.
Kaylie awkwardly stared in silence.
“He told me everything.”
Kaylie felt her heart stopped as she asked tentatively, “Everything?”
“Yes, everything. The agreement for you to pose as his girlfriend for his family’s sake and yours. Even the fake kiss.” Kaylie flinched when Jenna reiterated the word fake.
“Fa-fake?” Kaylie asked.
“Kaylie…I hate to do this but James could not face you right now. He had to attend at something urgent. So I told him I can talk to you. I mean, I understand. I knew what you had to go through before.”
“He asked you to talk to me?” Kaylie’s head was spinning, she could not believe James could be so harsh. What kind of a man is he? “Are you saying he had forgiven you?”
“There's nothing to forgive,” Jenna smirked.
“You left him broken, he wasn't himself, ignored his family.” Incensed feeling took over Kaylie’s entire being.
“True, that I can’t deny.”
Kaylie struggled to control her feelings. “You were selfish and only thought of yourself.”
“There wasn't a day when I stopped thinking about him,” Jenna defended.
Kaylie stood up as she couldn't control her anger and declared, “That’s not good enough!”
“It’s good enough for James!” Jenna raised her voice, as she raised from the couch. “Why are you so upset?” Then her eyes widened, “Oh my God, are you in-love with him?”

For the past one hour after Jenna had left, Kaylie had been staring at her reflection in her vanity mirror. She even had to convince manang that Jenna and she weren't arguing. For that same last hour she had tried to contact James numerous times, but her call would only go straight to voicemail. She didn't bother leaving a message, she needed to talk to him.
She stood, abruptly, and walked over to her closet. Her eyes traveled to the box on the very left corner of her top shelf. As she tiptoed to reach for it, she realized that it has been almost four years since she last touched it.
Carrying the dark blue box, she rested it on her bed. As soon as she opened the lid, a flood of memories resurfaced with every letters, movie & concert tickets, stuff toys, candy and chocolate wrappers, a broken infinity bracelet, a half of a silver couple ring and broken watch with dark brown leather strap.
