8-Cardiology chaos

A loud beeping noise reaches my ears. I groan, getting out of bed. It continues to beep, but at a distance. I walk towards the window and I look out for anything.

In our driveway, a giant black truck backs in. It wasn't an ordinary truck you'd see in public. It was specially designed to carry a specific product.

This brings out the curiousity in me, as I dash down the steps. I go outside, watching as Robert directs the drivers how to park.

I get closer, interested in what was going on. Robert looks back, and smiles at me.

"Hey Niall. You're up early." He says, eyes widened.

I nod, walking up next to him. "I heard commotion. What's going on?"

Robert sighs, looking down. "I checked the gamma tank last night, and some of it leaked out. We're restocking the supply."

"Oh." I quickly reply, while looking at the burly men. They carry large containers, clearly struggling as they go through the basement.

My stomach growls loudly, both alerting me and Robert.

He laughs, patting my back. "Looks like someone is hungry."

I chuckle, and reply. "Yeah, I'll be right back. I'm going to go eat."

I run back inside, hungrily looking for a power source. This time, I don't go for the air conditioning unit. I didn't want to fully destroy it.

Since it's warm outside, I decide to use the electrical fire place. We won't be needing this for awhile.

I remove my gloves, suck in a deep breath, then place my hands onto the heating device. Electricity easily flows out, inserting up my hands.

Despite it being small, it had alot of energy. I ended up draining it whole. It stops flowing, and I put my gloves back on.

I go to the window, looking out for the truck and Robert. They're nowhere in sight. They must be downstairs.

I go in that direction, heading to the steps. Just like I thought, Robert was at the bottom. He was busily going back and forth to different rooms.

"What's going on?" I ask when I reach the bottom of the stairs.

He stops in his tracks, shooting me a quick smile. "I was finishing up installing these gamma tanks, when I realized that your appointment was today. So now I'm trying to do all of this quickly."

My cardiology appointment was today? Internally, I feel better, so I wonder if my heart has gotten better as well.

"You may want to get ready now." He hints.

I nod, going back up the stairs. As much as I was curious to get my heart scanned, I was also scared.

During a heart scan, you have to take your shirt off. With my chest exposed, who knows what electricity disasters could occur?

I need to figure out a way to reflect it without an insulator on. Gamma is stronger than the average electrical wave. With those rays mixed in my blood, I should be able to reflect electricity.

I go to my bedroom, and put on a button-up plaid shirt. Then I slip into some khakis, along with a pair of converse.

To test out a theory, I go to the backyard. The electrical air conditioning unit sits twenty feet away, at a distance that can't affect me.

The closer I get, the more I focus on keeping my guard up. In my head, I pictured a fence, keeping anything unwelcomed out. Finally, I'm standing right next to the box. It doesn't even spark.
