chapter one|summer's end

Aurora's POV

Theres only a few more days left of summer.

 I didn't do much except stay in my room and read. That's all I ever do. My mom tells me I need to get out more but I like the comfort of my room better than anywhere outside.

 I'm Aurora. I'm 16 years old. I'm from South Carolina, I live in a small town called Sea brook Island. Not many people my age live around here, it's mostly elderly people. I go to Westside High. It's on the south coast. It's the only school i've been to so far. I've never had to move, maybe that's a good thing.

 Nobody really notices me or acknowledges i'm there so it's always been easy. 

I don't have a lot of friends. I have only one real best friend. Her names Ophelia. She has beautiful dark brown hair and these stunning light brown eyes. We've been best friends ever since we were little. We met at a cooking class in the first grade and we've been best friends ever since. She's not very popular either. Ophelia is the only reason I get out of the house. She's the extrovert and i'm the introvert. She makes life a lot less boring. 

This is the first time in years i've been nervous about the first day to school. This is grade 10. I don't know why i'm nervous I just am.

 Ophelia invited me to this small coffee shop down the street from her house with a few of her friend's. I don't know a lot of her friends except the ones from her childhood. 

My mom thinks this will be a good opportunity for me to meet more people. I guess i'll say yes because I want to know more people.

Felix's POV

With only a few more day's left of summer, i'm trying to soak up as much sun as I can. I spent all summer with my friends exploring buildings and going on adventures.

 One of my favourite things to do is hang out with people I connect with. I feel that friends make the best family. Maybe i'm just saying that because I don't have the best home life but I feel I bond and connect with my friends more than I could ever connect with my family. 

I'm Felix, i'm 16. I'm from a Sea Brook Island. I guess you could say i'm a extrovert, but i'm in no way what you would consider popular. 

I have a decent amount of friends most them i've known for a long time, but i'll never skip the chance to meet new people. One of my best friend's is Roman. We've known each other for a pretty long time if I do say so myself.

 I met him on the beach one day 3 summers ago. We've been best friends ever since them. 

He's the person I connect most with out of everyone. We share a lot of the same interests and do everything together.

 Earlier today he asked me if I cared to join him and a few of his friends at the coffee shop. I don't have anything better to do, or anything to do at all. 

So why not go. 

I could meet new people and even grow my friend group, of two people. That's also besides the point.

 I don't really enjoy drinking coffee, or tea. I'd just rather have a monster and get on my way. If it makes Roman happy i'll do whatever.

 I try and make everyone around me happy, feel like their important to someone.

 You never really know what someone is going through by just looking at them. 

That's why no matter who you are I will always try and generate a positive energy for you.

Aurora's POV

It's the day that i'm supposed to go with Ophelia to the cafe.

 Honestly i'm scared.
