NO CPR

I sit straight up, bumping my head into his.

"Owwww" he yells, covering his bruised fore head with his hands

"Sorry," I mouth, embarrased and relieved at the same time. "No CPR."

He chuckles and then laughs whole heartedly.

"Jeez. First of all, you don't do CPR like that. You have to check if the person is breathing or not. I did not check and I didn't pump your chest either. Second of all, you don't need any CPR. You were probably just dumbfounded by my hot appearance"  he laughs.

I blush. Dang. He's right. I was lovestruck.

"Then why were you leaning towards me?" I mutter.

"To pick my pendant up" he says, leaning over towards me.

I freeze. My heart pounds furiously as his shoulder brushes over mine, with his breath on my reddened ear. When he stands back straight, the star shaped necklace is hanging from his finger once again.

I stare in awe.

"What were you doing on the diving board anyway, a person who can't jump down properly" he says, breaking into my daydream, "you do know it's dangerous to land like that."

I look up. Of course I know. I'm a professional diver. But I reply him with a nod.

"Do you even know how to swim? You nearly drowned back there!" he says.

I stare down at my feet. The incident back there is too embarrassing to think about.

Clearly, he takes that as an I-don't-know-how-to-swim act and exclaims, "Well, that was brave, diving down without even knowing how to swim. I am Finnick Younger. I am working here for the summer, as a swimming coach. If you need me to teach me how to swim, I will be here in the office. Just ask, and I'll help you."

I blush. I know how to swim, though. But I must pretend I don't.

"Yeah, sure. I'll find you tomorrow at five." I say, sounding like a dying pig.

"Great!" he laughs, "and you're..."

"Criss, C-R-I-S-S"

With that, I walk out. Proud of my acting, but wondering at the same time, how am I going to pull this off. One thing for sure. Tomorrow's a big day, and I'm looking forward to it.
