fox was dead. tokyo was dead.
everything was tearing apart...
and all because you put your trust in him and believed his every word.

ever since your step dad asked for your help in pang mina's case, things were going in the worst direction possible

ever since your step dad asked for your help in pang mina's case, things were going in the worst direction possible.

"y/n, are you sure you can do this?" dongmin had a worried look on his face and you just nodded vehemently.

you had to do it since it was such a big opportunity for a college student like you and an amazing head start for your career. plus, your step dad trusted you enough to give you such an important and delicate task to help him with.

"you know i could've talked to my son about it and ask him to do it." dongmin continued. "but unfortunately jimin is already friends with our main suspect and he can be easily manipulated because of how sweet and thoughtful he is."

dongmin was right, your step brother was way too gentle and well-behaved to carry such a big burden on his shoulders. jimin wanted the best for everyone, he would do anything for his friends to be happy.

"i'm going to do it, old man." you said and dongmin chuckled. he deeply cared about you and you also felt some kind of warmth towards your step dad... you admired and cared about him as well. he was the chief of police after all, keeping you, your mom and jimin safe for almost a decade now.

"i know you're very capable, y/n. you have a great sense of justice and an incredible perception of things. you can't find these qualities in law students that often anymore." your step father lighted up a cigarette as he sat in his massive, sumptuous armchair in front of you. "you're also very nosy and curious, it makes you ten times more efficient than others."

"thanks, big man." you giggled. "i can't tell yoongi about it, can i?"

"absolutely not." dongmin spoke, exhaling some smoke. "this is confidential, you know i'm not allowed to tell my family about my work. it's just between you and me, young lady."

you nodded profoundly but your palms started sweating. you weren't that used to work all alone, yoongi has always had your back in every situation possible, both as your best friend and as a senior in college.

"okay then..." dongmin took the last smoke of his cigar, throwing the wet stub in the ashtray next to him. "let the game begin."

with one last glance and a graceless bow at your step dad, you left his gigantic, luxurious office. you sighed deeply as soon as you closed his door, your brain automatically doing a quick recap of the things you had to do as you were tiptoeing the way to your room.

the plan was simple.

your task was to approach the main suspect, slowly get closer to him and subtly question him about that night. it wasn't that hard since he was an acquaintance of yours and a part of your group of friends from college.

long story short, it all started when pang mina was out clubbing with two of her girl friends three days ago before she went missing.

you carefully read her friends' declarations: both kim bomi and lee yun stated that mina had a couple of drinks as soon as they arrived to the octagon club in seoul on thursday night, went to the bathroom, came back to dance for about fifteen to twenty minutes and then disappeared all of a sudden.

after a whole hour of questioning mina's two friends, yoongi, fox and tokyo who were responsible for her case left the room. park dongmin, your step dad — the skillful chief of police — made his appearance so he could be sure bomi and yun were telling the truth since he had his own unique way of detecting lies. as soon as mr. park turned off the cameras that were recording the two girls so they wouldn't be afraid of the interrogation anymore and tell him absolutely everything, both of them remembered a detail. a very small, insignificant detail but crucial for the investigation.

before disappearing completely from her friends' sight, mina tried to approach a guy on the dance floor. she kept grinding her hips against his tall figure and the guy looked clearly uncomfortable... which made bomi take a video of them so she could make fun of mina the next day for forcing the guy into her and shamelessly flirting with him.

mr. park knew you were the best choice to follow his plan. he hid the guy's identity from yoongi and the sub-inspectors, only showing you the video kim bomi provided. your jaw dropped and you widened your eyes in complete shock.

crap, you knew this boy... you were buddies with him...

you've never ever imagined that he would be capable of kidnapping a girl, what the actual fuck? girls around him would give up absolutely anything just to talk to him... you even witnessed a few ladies genuinely blacking out in the middle of the campus after he shyly smiled at them.

so you accepted without any second thoughts. ever since you were a little kid, your biggest dream was to catch the bad guys and make the world a much safer and better place for everyone. it didn't matter if you were going to ruin your group of friends and break them apart. if he was indeed the one responsible for pang mina's disappearance, you were the one that was going to catch him.

the only problem was... how on earth were you going to get closer to him without any suspicions, all of that while being undercover and keeping it a secret from your pals, step brother and best friend who was also the one in charge of the case?

how the hell were you going to approach jeon jungkook and slowly start questioning him without looking like one of the numerous girls that would do absolutely anything to sleep with him?
