"Bye Lu" Levy smiled as she held Akari in her arms leaving

"See you tomorrow sweetie" Layla smiled leaving

Everyone left the room leaving Lucy and Natsu by themselves

Porly wanted Lucy to stay in bed to rest just in case her hybrid powers spur out of control. Even though Lucy knows they won't she complied and decided to stay in bed

"Your not leaving" Lucy said as she looked at Natsu

"Nope"

"Why not"

"Cause I want to make sure you are alright"

Lucy giggled

"Come on Natsu you saw that I beat those guys"

Natsu came closer to Lucy and sat beside her on the bed

"Yea well that's not the only reason why I'm staying here with you"

"Then why are you here" she said as she raised a brow

Natsu stared at Lucy as he remembered what him and his father talked about a week before..........

Flashback
Natsu had decided to talk to his father about the feeling he had every time he was with Lucy. He went to his father's study and knocked on the door "come in" Igneel said on the other side of the door.

Natsu walked in to see his father going through some papers, his father looked up a second then back to his papers "what do you need son" he asked. Natsu sat in a chair in front of his dad, leaned forward and had his head in his hands as if he was frustrated.

Igneel saw his son's actions and stopped what he was doing, "okay what's going on, I haven't seen you like this since you found out about your grandparents's death, so what seems to be the problem" Igneel asked with concern.

Natsu looked at his dad dead in the eyes and sighed "it's Lucy" Natsu said, "what about her" Igneel asked confused as to how she could be a problem to Natsu seeing as they are always hanging out with one another, even sneaking out at night to see each other.

Natsu sat up straight and leaned back in the chair "it's just......she does things to me" Natsu said "you'll have to elaborate more son, your confusing me even more" Igneel said.

Natsu sighed and looked at his father "what I mean is that, every time I'm near her, I want to be by her side forever and never leave, every time she smiles, I want to make sure she keeps it on her face, when she laughs I get butterflies in my stomach and immediately I feel happy, when she cries I feel like my heart has been broken into a million pieces, not to mention every time another guy tries to get close to her I feel like ripping them limb from limb, slowly and painfully" Natsu stated

Igneel just chuckled as Natsu looked at him weirdly "what's so funny" Natsu asked raising an eyebrow "nothing it's just....." Igneel looked at his son "you found her, your mate that is, you finally found her" Igneel stated.

Natsu still looked confused making Igneel sigh "look son, we dragons have what we call a mate, a person who we are destined to be with till death due us part, literally. It's like marriage but, there is no cheating and no leaving your mate. Your stuck with them through good and bad. And you finally found your mate meaning you have to love and protect her no matter what and no matter the cost" Igneel stated
