On Destiny Islands, after the defeat of Xehanort, and Sora giving himself up to bring Kairi back, Riku and Kairi settled down, even had a kid.
This kid is called Rei(pronounced ray).
She, strangely, can travel through time. And has a few other powers she dare not speak of.
The problem with this eighteen year old girl, is that she has short term memory. The worst part is... It would develop into amnesia(this can't actually happen, I just use this for plot).
Her father, Riku, told Rei to leave Destiny Islands, to enjoy something exciting. Of course, this would require Rei to travel through a dark vortex. Riku gave his daughter a cloak that would repel the darkness.
Putting the cloak on, Rei gave her parents a goodbye hug, and travelled across time and space.
On the other side, Rei found herself at Radiant Garden. She looks around.... It was very colorful. The young woman walks around, observing her surroundings.
She lived here for a while, and was about to go to a shop.... Then she collapsed, and passed out.
Ansem the Wise, Sage King of Radiant Garden, found Rei, and helped her up. He asked for her name, and one name came to mind...
"Sora."
