Just Maybe - Yamaken/Shizuku

Chapter 2

YAMAKEN PART 1
FIRST DAY OF THIRD YEAR

The bell for classes ending finally rang. We were supposed to meet up with Shizuku and her friends, by "we" I mean me and some idiots.

"Let's go," I said leaving the school.

"Ehhh?" said Mabo, "You're trying to go pretty quickly. Is it because your beloved Shizuku is there?"

"Shut up," I said, annoyed.

These three friends of mine are such idiots, why do I have to take them with me? Shizuku ... even though I thought of giving up on her, my interest for her wouldn't lessen. Muttaku. Why me? Although Haru isn't here anymore so this might be a really good chance for me, but I had said I'll be her friend so she's sees me only as a friend. There's no point trying.

It seems we came early. I sat a little far away from those three and took out my books. They came right after some time and Shizuku immediately sat beside me.  I'll admit I got a bit happy. Oh wait. She has that chicken with her. Haru's chicken. That's right, it's always gonna be Haru.

Those idiots were making a lot of sounds along with my annoying little sister, but I couldn't really hear them. All that came to my mind was what Shizuku was saying; and how the annoying chicken kept interrupting us. Although if Haru was here right now, we wouldn't be able to be together like this. After some time that annoying girl who calls Shizuku "Mitty" went away which made me a bit happy for some reason.

When it was time for us to leave, I went up to Shizuku and said "Oi, it's pretty late. I might have to walk you home." I'm such an idiot. Obviously she'll saying no. I was avoiding her face while saying that, I took a glimpse of her face now and saw she was flushed red. Oh God, that face is so cute. I had to avoid eye contact again because I started blushing. She looked around and said, "Uhm, sure. Otou-san's probably gonna get worried as well if I go by myself." Damn it. DAMN IT. I can't stop smiling. I had to hide my smile with my hand.

"Bye Oshima-san," said Shizuku as she stood beside me.

"Bye Mizutani-san," replied back the girl with glasses.

"Hey Yamaken!" called Mabo, "Won't you say anything to us?"

I ignored them as I walked with Shizuku.

"Hey look he's with study-bug!" they started saying. I couldn't say anything because I couldn't stop smiling. I started walking quickly with my hand around my face but stopped when I felt someone holding me.

"Hey, you're gonna get lost like that." said Shizuku. She held my shirt. Darn it! I started blushing even more. "Don't go speeding off like that."

"Hm," I replied with my face down as I walked beside her again.

We were both pretty quiet until Shizuku said, "I'm glad you're still my friend." I looked at her, "You're the only one understands me really."

I looked at her, dumbfounded. "Etto .."

"Oh, we're here." she said walking towards her house, "Thanks for walking me to my house."

"It was a pleasure," I replied back. Damn it, it was too cheesy.

Though I guess she didn't hear it because she was going in, her father came out and stared at me. Then he whispered to her, but I could hear it.

"Who's this other guy?"

"He's Yamaken-kun."

"The one I had once talked to on the phone?" she nodded.

He, then, started coming up to me. I felt a lot of emotions. I blushed because it was her father. I was annoyed because hes the guy I had that phone call with. Proud because he seemed to like me then - Oh wait he's here.

"Hey there," he said, smiling, "I see you walked my daughter home. What a gentleman."

I didn't know what to say, so I just said "T-Thank you." Damn it I stumbled.

"I would like to talk to you more but it's quite late so you should home now." he said.

"Okay," I replied and then Shizuku smiled and waved goodbye to me. I gave a little wave back. That smile. It was too darn cute.
