The bustling restaurant noises muffling my thoughts, "So, tell us more!" Lily repeats battling with the clutter. I snap out of my trance staring my two friends in the eyes. Lily on the right, Lee on the left.
"He's cute"
"Is that all?!" Lily desperately let's out whilst Lee giggles.
"Well, I don't know... he kissed me" I say softly, looking down at my food.
"He WHAT" Lee exclaims a little too loud
"Did you like it!?" Lily chimes in shushing Lee now that everyone in the restaurant had glared at us. I stir over my thoughts battling with what I should say, how far I should let them see past the curtain "yes." I eventually state softly smiling, "But we agreed to just pretend like it never happened, and now I regret that decision because he's all that I can think about. All I can think of is the way his lips tasted and the way he made me feel and now I'm worried he won't feel the same.. and I'm ranting aren't I. Sorry".
I look up from my plate to see two astonished faces staring back at me, absolutely gobsmacked they burst out in laughter. "Well I think you really like him Nea, and it sounds like he feels the same I mean he KISSED you!! And if he really makes you feel like that then go for it, what do you have to lose?"
"Only all my confidence and an amazing friendship" I mutter to myself

My keys jangle all the way up the drive, humming the tune to paper houses (which I just had on in the car, belting it emotionally before pulling up to the house). I slot the key into the door and shimmy the lock open until I hear the magic click. I was home alone, Niall went to another interview but would be back in an hour or two, and my parents went out to the movies. My dog came rushing up to me as she hears the door shut. She immediately roils over for pets as I greet her with kisses.
I kick my shoes off and collapse onto the couch, I turn on the TV and begin to watch Bridgeton on Netflix. I feel my eyelids grow heavy and try to force myself awake.

"Hello... I'm back" the washed out voice says "Nea? Are you home?" The faded footsteps grow louder and I begin to become conscious of another presence in the room, yet I can't do or say anything, that part of my brain hasn't woken up yet.
I see his steel eyes and instantly calm, my body relaxes, I feel the weight on the couch change as he sits next to me, lifting my head and sliding himself under it like a pillow. My head now rested on his lap, he gently tangles through my locks, sweeping his fingertips over my hair, tucking it behind my ear and out of my face.
