Rest of the days were boring but I managed to stay out of the trouble. Winters were around the corner and so were the mid-trems. My brothers were getting strict. Aarnav also had his exams but as usual his schedule for studying was ready. They would wake me up early every morning for studying and decide my time table for after school. My curfew was cut down to seven from nine and on weakends to eight from ten. I was only allowed to go out with my friends after my work was checked by Aarnav and revision of the chapter was done. All of the sudden they were acting like the Hitler. Abeer was not strict with Aarnav even though he also had exams. It was really frustrating. I wanted a break. Its not that they didn't give time for relaxing and entertaining but still I needed some more time. And the best option was to go to the party throwm by my classmate Reema. We were not close friends but we were friends and it was perfect for the well needed break.
Sazia and Tamanna were allowed for the party and now it was me who had to ask for permission. The tough job.
"Bhai can I go to the party of Reema." I asked hurriedly as if I just wanted to skip my words.
"No." Abeer answered as if he knew what I'll ask and had the answer already prepared.
"Please bhai, please." I whinced. I looked at Aarnav who had stopped whatever he was doing and was listening to the conversation. I knew he was easy to melt. "Please."
Abeer looked at Aarnav and then at me and in a stern voice said a big 'NO'. I started stumping my feets and throwing my hands. I was nearly shouting that I wanted to go. Abeer was losing his coolness and now even Aarnav's expressions matched his but with a line of sadness. It was a wrong move taken by me.
"If you will keep acting like a 5 year old, we will treat you like a 5 year old." Abeer scolded me. He really scolded me. But I didn't understood what he said actually what he meant. I stood on my grounds and kept behaving in the same way. Abeer lost his patients. He grabbed my upper arm and pulled me to move out of the study. But I resisted and pulled away my hand. Now he was totally over done by my behaviour. His eyes widened up and when I looked at Aarnav he also looked shocked and disappointed. At that point I realized in how much trouble I was in. Aarnav looked at Abeer and then asked me to come near him.
"I'm sorry."
"You just come here and don't make me repeat." Oh God! Aarnav was totally pissed. I had never seen him like that before. It was not his way. I hurried towards him not making him more freaked out. As I got in his reach he took the hold of my ear.
"What's wrong with you?" This time he talked and looked calm than before. My bro was getting to himself. But still I was not out of the trouble. "Just few minutes back Abeer told you that if you keep acting like 5 we will treat you like that."
"I'm sorry I just wanted to go to the party."
"And did that behaviour of yours took you anywhere better." He was talking calmly and softly but still held my ear which was on fire now.
" No, I'm sorry." This time tears were running down my cheeks.
I looked at him and it seemed as if he was fighting inside. He then stood and pulled me by my ear to the empty corner. He made me stand there with my nose poked in the corner and hands above the head. I just can't believe that my brother was giving me a time out. This thought made me bust into the tears. But this time it didn't worked to get him melt down.
" You will stand here till either of us come and get you. There should be no movement of muscle. Do you get it?" He had some kind of strictness in it. I just nodded my head in the reply. With that he left. I really don't remember when was the last time they punished me like that. The last few months progress of not getting in trouble was out of the window.
